My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 488

Sandra frowned slightly, eyeing Quennel with suspicion. She couldn't figure out what new game he was playing.

But Quennel just smiled back at her, saying nothing. His smile was terrifying.

Sandra took the tablet and watched the video of Lionel slapping a man. She listened to their conversation and then saw him being put into a police car.

She didn't quite understand what was going on.

“Look at the comments below.”

Sandra did as he said. After reading a few, she pieced together that Lionel's public assault was likely for Hannah's sake.

“What's your point in showing me this?” Sandra placed the tablet on the table, her face hardening into a sneer. “Are you trying to tell me that Lionel really cares about Hannah now?”

“That he'll defend her even if someone says one bad thing about her? Even if it means doing something so beneath him?”

Quennel crossed his arms, leaning back in his chair and looking down at her.

“I'm actually curious. Did Lionel ever do anything that crazy for you?”

If he had, then slapping someone was hardly a big deal.

“Just this?”

“Yes.”

Sandra scoffed.

“Slapping someone? What's that? Lionel did far crazier things for me in the past!”

But soon, it soured into resentment.

She used to live like that, but now, because of Hannah, her life was in ruins.

That damned Hannah had destroyed everything.

She used to take that life for granted, seeing it as just the way things were. Now, the more she remembered, the more precious it seemed, and the more painful the memory became.

A pang of grief hit Sandra, and tears of hatred welled up in her eyes.

“Compared to what you've just described, Lionel slapping someone is nothing at all.”

Quennel stated this flatly, then stood up and left.
