My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 501

Just as she finished speaking, Quennel came downstairs. "Mom, don't do that. It will only make him more suspicious. The best approach is to let him come, let him search. Let him keep looking until he finds nothing and gives up on his own."

Mary wasn't entirely happy with her son's plan, but since he had suggested it, what could she do?

She huffed in feigned anger. "Fine, have it your way. Just don't get burned playing with fire. Do whatever you want. You're a grown man now; I can't control you anymore."

Hearing the anger in his mother's voice, he spent some time coaxing her until she was no longer upset. Only then did he set off for the prison.

The entrance to the prison was obvious, yet not obvious at all.

At the prison.

When Sandra saw him approach, she shot him a glare and rolled her eyes.

"It seems you're not very happy to see me. But unfortunately, that's not up to you. I came today because I have something important to tell you."

At his words, Sandra slowly looked up at him. She had a vague idea of what it might be, but she clenched her jaw and said nothing, trying to appear uninterested.

"Lionel is back in the country. And he's already come looking for you at my place."

As Quennel spoke, a flash of pain and regret crossed Sandra's face.

For a moment, when Quennel mentioned it, she truly believed Lionel had called the police and was on his way to save her. She never thought he wouldn't!

"You always say you don't care about him, that you have nothing to do with him anymore. But in reality, you still want him to come for you, don't you? It's such a pity. He really doesn't have you in his heart, but you still have him in yours. That's the difference between you two."

Sandra took a deep breath and looked up at him. "What are you trying to achieve by telling me all this? To make me disappointed? To make me suffer? What's the point? Enough. This is all meaningless!"

"Don't worry, I'll continue to leak your location to him. Now that he's back, who knows if he'll be able to find you? It's something to look forward to, isn't it?"
