Quennel stood nearby with his arms crossed, a contemptuous look in his eyes as he watched the frantic and agitated Lionel. He let out a derisive laugh.
"If you really can't find any evidence, you could always fabricate some to frame me. Who knows, maybe Hannah will choose to believe you for the sake of the three years you spent together."
"As for me, your dear brother, the last thing I want is for you two to live the rest of your lives as strangers. After all, if this blows up, it'll be bad for the Rosenberg family and the Temple family. I'm willing to sacrifice myself for your sake."
Lionel's eyes burned with even greater fury at his words. He glared at the man before him, his teeth clenched.
"You're quite skilled, Quennel. You managed to hold someone here for days without leaving a single trace."
"I really underestimated you. I'm just curious, are your subordinates truly that loyal to you?"
Faced with Lionel's thinly veiled threat, Quennel's expression didn't change in the slightest. He just shrugged helplessly.
"Shall I gather everyone in the household, including my personal assistant and bodyguards, and let you interrogate them?"
Lionel was stunned, completely blindsided by Quennel's offer.
After a moment of silence, he finally said, "Fine. Since you've offered, how could I refuse?"
Though the chances of getting any information were slim, he thought that if even one or two of them had their own agenda, he might actually learn something.
True to his word, Quennel magnanimously summoned the staff and had them wait in the study to be questioned.
