Samuel raised an eyebrow and stroked his chin thoughtfully. “Let me tell you, don’t do that. It just makes Hannah and me think you’re even more pathetic.”
“It won't make us admire you or think you’re great. Seriously, just get lost. This is just disgusting, you know that?”
Honestly, if it weren’t for Hannah, he never would have encountered such a bizarre individual.
The world was truly full of strange people.
You really had to interact with more people to realize just how normal you were, and how rare it was to meet other normal people.
“Say whatever you want about me. Scold me, mock me, I don’t care. I know what I did was ridiculous. But I came here today with sincerity.”
Lionel looked at Hannah with a pleading expression. “I came here to apologize properly. I’m not saying you have to forgive me just because I apologized. But I felt I needed to take some kind of action.”
On his way to see Hannah, he had fantasized that his sincere apology might cause a slight shift in her feelings toward him.
He knew it was impossible for her to suddenly change her mind because of one incident; that was just wishful thinking.
But he had never imagined that coming to talk to her would end like this, with her calling Samuel over to mock him together.
He never thought Hannah could be that ruthless. The Hannah he used to know would never have treated him this way.
“Since you know you’re just here to apologize, let me be clear: I don’t accept your apology. Now, get out.”
Lionel froze.
If he stayed another minute, he might get the wrong idea and think she still had feelings for him, and that would be a grave sin.
Lionel looked like he wanted to say more, but he was unceremoniously escorted away.
As soon as Lionel was gone, Hannah turned to find Samuel staring at her with a strange expression.
“If you have something to say, just say it. You don’t have to look at me like you’re constipated. Be careful, or I might just hit you a couple of times. You think I won’t?”
Samuel playfully jumped back a few steps, laughing loudly. “Of course I don’t believe it. You’re too nice to ever hit me.”
“I just wanted to ask, seeing Lionel reduced to this pathetic state, how do you really feel? I’m genuinely curious.”
