My Deceased Wife Wants a Divorce (Hannah) novel Chapter 626

The thought of Lionel's frantic calls made Quennel chuckle to himself.

The more anxious he was, the more pleased Quennel felt.

Besides, even if Lionel tried to handle it himself now, he wouldn't be able to find a single trace of the men Quennel had hired. All he could do was stew in his own panic.

All Quennel had to do now was wait for Hannah to go to the location tomorrow.

The plan was perfect. He could hardly wait for tomorrow to come.

Meanwhile, Lionel immediately sent his own people to investigate, demanding they report any new developments to him instantly.

He didn't dare tell Hannah about any of this. His original plan was to wait until Quennel had resolved the situation, then tell her, hoping to win some favor.

But now that Quennel had backed out, the only thing he could be thankful for was that he hadn't prematurely told Hannah he was taking care of it.

That would have only made the misunderstanding between them worse.

"What? No leads?" Lionel roared into the phone when he received the report. "Are you kidding me? How can you not find them?"

Lionel clenched his fists, his teeth gritted. "You're not even trying, are you? Those men are supposed to meet Hannah tomorrow night. They must still be in the city!"

The men on the other end of the line were so annoyed by Lionel's accusations they didn't know what to say. They just mumbled a few half-hearted agreements, hung up, and passed the task off.

"This guy's got a terrible attitude. Should we even keep looking? We have no clues, and when we ask him for information, he's completely clueless."

One of them cursed under his breath, "Forget it. We're not looking. What the hell are we supposed to find? If he gave us one useful piece of information, finding someone would be easy. This money isn't worth it. Let's just string him along. If he calls again, we'll just say we can't find them!"

After a moment's thought, he realized these guys were probably useless and hired another group to help find the men.

With so many people on the case, they had to find them eventually.

Throughout the entire day, Lionel sat in his hospital room, anxiously staring at his phone, afraid he would miss even the smallest piece of information.

But after waiting for so long, nothing came. He instinctively picked up his phone to call Hannah, only to remember she had blocked him.

"Damn it, what am I going to do now?"

Was he really supposed to do nothing and let Hannah go there all by herself?

But Hannah was a Temple, after all. Surely the Temple family would do something, right?
