Chapter 320 The Rupture
Hearing what Faye said, Colin chuckled.
"To be exact, he wants to talk to me."
Faye nodded and pushed forward the empty bowl on the table, saying, "Then I'll get out of your hair."
With that, she stood up and left.
When she just brushed past Colin, the latter clasped her wrist and caressed it affectionately. "Go to bed when you are tired. Don't wait for me," said he.
Faye dropped her eyes and said, "Don't go to bed too late."
Faye walked upstairs to the bedroom. As soon as she entered the room, she heard some noise that was like a cat scratching the door outside the French window.
Faye raised her eyes and went to draw open the curtains.
Outside the window, Emmett looked like a Spider-Man, clinging to the glass window closely.
Seeing Faye, Emmett blinked and said, "Faye, open the window!"
Faye stared at him for a moment. Without the slightest worry that he would be discovered, she smilingly opened the window.
As soon as the window was opened, Emmett neatly jumped in.
The moment he stood firmly in the room, he began to complain.
"Neither you nor my brother is reliable."
"I sent you a message asking you for help, but you didn't reply. I sent a message to my brother for help, and he told me to fuck off."
It was freezing cold outside, and Emmett had been outside the window for a long time.
Emmett shivered, went straight to the couch, and sat down cross-legged. "At the critical moment, I could only count on my sugar mommy," said he.
Emmett and Lance were biological brothers. Back then, they were adopted by different families in the orphanage.
The two brothers were cut from the same cloth both in appearance and character.
The only difference was that Lance was more sophisticated, while Emmett had a happy-go-lucky attitude.
Getting no reply from Faye, he continued, "Faye, was your hubby jealous tonight?"
Faye opened the wardrobe and threw a thin blanket at him. Instead of answering his question, Faye uttered, "You weren't taken advantage of by Tiffany, were you?"
Emmett caught the blanket and wrapped it around his body. He leaned into the couch and uttered, "No, Dr. Thomas gave me some pills before. I let her take two every time we slept together."
Faye asked, "Wasn't she suspicious?"
Emmett stated, "I got someone to sleep with her in her daze. That male prostitute is well-built and quite skillful. I paid 750 dollars per night for him."
Emmett shook his head exaggeratedly as he spoke.
Hank leaned forward slightly with his elbows on his knees and fingers interlocked; he uttered, "You really got a deliberate plan."
Colin snickered and said, "You've been waiting for me all night just to tell me this shit?"
Colin kept a straight face. His fingers were interlocked so tightly that his hand veins bulged.
Catching sight of that, Colin sat up straight and dissolved into laughter, saying, "Hank, you don't seem to have the fighting spirit you used to have recently. Why?"
As if being cut to the quick, Hank frowned and asked in a husky voice, "I found out the truth about the car accident of Faye's parents, and..."
Colin joked, "And what?"
Hank looked up at Colin and wrinkled his brow. "And the lousy things that my mother and Grandpa had done to you that year."
With that, Colin wiped the playful smile off his face instantly and stated in a cold tone, "You indeed found out a lot of things these days."
Hank fell silent and compressed his lips into a slit before uttering, "Colin, I apologize to you and Faye for my mother. I'm sorry."
Colin curved up the corner of his mouth, his eyes full of mockery. "Apologize?" said Colin.
Hank was wordless.
Colin continued with a scornful smile, "Just an oral apology can mend everything? It doesn't count unless you guys experience the same suffering as us. It's probably impossible to make you feel the identical misery, but I can make you have a taste of your own medicine in person."
