Chapter 247
372
*She tried to kill me, and now I know why. It was because of you. She wanted to give you my birthright. I was going to give it to you, by the way, the pack, but you had to be evil; you had to kill my father?
I spat.
He growled and pounded on me, punching me over and over again, hate in his eye.
He punched me over and over; pain surged through me, and I couldn’t breathe. I tried to fight back, but I was still trying to free myself
from the rope.
Finally I was free of the rope, and I caught his fist. He was shocked to see I was free, and I began pummeling his damaged eye again, and each punch made him scream in pain and anger.
Subconsciously, I registered the sound of fighting going on outside, and I wondered what was going on.
That was when Damon rushed in panicked and bloodied. “We are under attack.”
He saw that I was also attacking his friend and rushed at me, but suddenly a gun rang out, and he fell forward on his face, writhing in pain on the ground. There was a bullet wound in his shoulder.
Another shot rang out, and Tony clutched his chest where blood was spreading and fell to the ground. He tried to say something but instead coughed up blood. Finally his body went still. He was dead, his eyes wide open.
That was when Gerald stepped in with a gun in hand, his hard. “Filthy bastard.” He spat.
“Gerald!” I cried out, my heart racing. He came. He came to save me.
I rushed towards him and hugged him.
He pulled away and crushed his lips against mine.
“You’re okay!”
“You came back.” I whispered, and he kissed the tip of my nose.
“I had to correct my mistake,” he said. “I’m sorry for not believing you.”
We both went back to his pack. And I went to see Cassandra in the dungeons, first things first.
She was haggard-looking, and her hair was dirty. Still she looked at me with hatred.

Chapter 247
“Are you happy now you have him all to yourself?” She spat.
Gerald came in and stood by the door, not interfering.
I grabbed her throat with both hands and pressed down hard on it; I wanted her dead. I wanted what she did to my baby to be her fate.
She coughed, clawing at my hands to stop, but I didn’t stop.
“You are going to die for what you did to my baby.” I spat at her, hate coursing through my veins.
I kept on pressing down on her windpipe, determined to see her die.
At the last moment, I pushed her away. She coughed and sputtered, holding her throat.
“You will pay for everything you ever did.” I told her and walked away, Gerald following me.
I heard her coughing violently.
“You didn’t kill her.” Gerald said when we were both in his bedroom.

“Yeah,” I nodded. “I am not ready yet.” I lied. I wanted to kill her, I did, but I realized that would be merciful. I wanted her to see Gerald and me married and not be able to do anything about it.
He nodded.
“Whenever you are ready. She is in the dungeon for your pleasure.”
“I am sorry.” I faced him, caressing his face.
“Sorry about what?” He asked.
“Sorry that I was right about her.”
He sighed. “No, I’m sorry for not believing you. You were right. I should have trusted you.”
“How did you know where to find me?” I asked.
“I got Cassandra to confess.” He said.
“Plus,” he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ears.
“I could hear your heart crying for me. The mate bond led me to you.”
