My Fated Alphas Cruel Game novel Chapter 12

2 Chapter 12 Hidden Communication

Elena’s POV 1

I approached his car and slid into the passenger seat without a word. We drove away from the packhouse in complete silence.

The entire journey back to our territory passed without me speaking. I kept my gaze fixed on the passing landscape outside the window, refusing to acknowledge his presence beside me.

The atmosphere in the vehicle grew thick with unspoken tension. I sensed his eyes shifting toward me several times during the drive, but I maintained my stubborn silence.

The road stretched endlessly before us until Marcus finally shattered the quiet.

No mate of mine will be caught flirting with unmated males in public. His voice carried that familiar authoritative tone that made my skin crawl.

I apologize, Alpha. The sarcasm dripped from my words like poison.

I felt the weight of his stare burning into the back of my skull.

Don’t you

dare take that tone with me. You know better than to test my patience. His growl filled the confined space.

That was enough to make me finally face him.

You dragged me to that ridiculous gathering because you needed everyone to witness your mated status. You wanted to project strength through me. Then you abandoned me completely once we arrived. Not a single Luna approached me for conversation, and he showed basic courtesy. I wasn’t about to treat him rudely when he was simply being polite. My voice rose with each word.

And within minutes, the gossip started spreading. He shot back.

Well, you certainly demonstrated your dominance, didn’t you? You made it crystal clear who holds the power. If you believe nobody witnessed you striking me, then you’re more foolish than I imagined.” I turned back toward the window, dismissing him entirely.

Perhaps hitting you wasn’t the right choice.” His admission came out grudgingly.

12 Chapter 12 Hidden Communication

I rolled my eyes and refused to respond to his pathetic attempt at an apology.

When we finally reached pack territory, the limo stopped directly outside my trailer.

I’ll have this dress professionally cleaned and returned to you as quickly as possible.I stated flatly.

Keep it.” He replied.

I’ll return it.I stepped out of the vehicle without looking back.

I walked toward my front door, but the limo remained parked until I entered and switched on the interior lights.

A shadow moved across the room, triggering my defensive instincts. I ducked quickly as someone swung a lamp toward my head. My reflexes kicked in, and I grabbed a handful of hair, slamming the intruder against the wall.

Viviana.” I snarled her name.

What the hell are you doing with my man?She demanded through gritted teeth, her face pressed against the wall.

I didn’t waste energy responding to her delusion. Instead, I yanked open the front door, noting that the limo still waited outside.

With Viviana’s hair still twisted in my grip, I hauled her through the doorway and hurled her onto the ground. She hit the dirt facefirst before I slammed the door shut

behind her.

Shouting erupted outside between Viviana and Marcus before the voices faded and the car finally departed.

I collapsed onto my couch, replaying the night’s events when an unfamiliar sound caught my attention. A phone was ringing somewhere in my trailer, which seemed impossible since I didn’t own one.

I traced the sound to the clutch I’d carried tonight and discovered a cell phone tucked inside.

One new message glowed on the screen.

DAMIEN Hey, just making sure that you got home alright. This is a prepaid cell phone, non traceable. He’ll never know that you have it if you keep it hidden.

ELENA Why would you do this for me?
