My father sold me to the Mafia King novel Chapter 17

Chapter 17: 17/False Confession

Chapter Seventeen

Julie’s point of view

I did not tremble, nor did I even try to justify my position.

Instead, I raised my head with a pride that made the long shirt sleeves hang down even further, and I looked at her with a coldness that provoked her more than my silence did.

I knew that seeing me in her "master’s" clothes was the straw that broke the back of her patience.

I said to her in a calm tone, deliberately provoking her madness:

"Why don’t you ask him? And aren’t you the supervisor who knows everything? Why do you come to ask me?"

She was clenching her knuckles so hard her skin turned white, and she approached me with rapid steps that nearly consumed the ground between us, saying in a voice choked with intense resentment:

— "Mr. Robert’s room is forbidden to everyone... how did you enter, you witch?!"

I froze in my place for a moment; I won’t lie, I was shocked to learn this.

How could his room be "forbidden" to everyone while I entered it yesterday in his presence?

But soon the echo of his resonant voice rang in my mind as he said to me coldly: "Entering my room is not a gift, Julie... it’s a punishment."

He was right, for every second I spent there was like the tearing of my soul.

I regained my balance, and tried to push up the hanging silk sleeves that made me look tiny, and looked into her burning eyes and said with utter calmness:

— "He brought me into his room himself... and I didn’t know anything about his private place being a restricted area."

Her face grew redder, as if my words were fuel poured onto her fire. She let out a hollow laugh lacking any mirth and said:

"He brought you into his room himself? And did you bid farewell to your virginity there yesterday?"

My breath caught for a moment, and I felt as though the ground were swaying beneath me.

The question wasn’t just insolence; it was a stab at the core of my fear that had not yet cooled.

Silence prevailed in the room, a heavy silence broken only by the sound of Olivia’s rapid breathing as she waited for my collapse.

I looked at her, and my features betrayed nothing but an icy coldness I struggled hard not to let melt.

I did not allow my tears to appear, nor my body to tremble before her.

I raised my head slowly and looked into her eyes filled with hatred, and said in a voice that came out terrifyingly calm:

"Do you have a brain or a vagina in your head? Because it seems you don’t always think properly; your thoughts always take you to your damn vagina."

An absolute silence fell over the room, a silence through which our heartbeats could be heard.

Olivia’s features froze as if I had slapped her hard across the face; she never expected these words to come from the "delicate girl" everyone sees as a victim.

Her eyes bulged, and her jaw shook with a shock that paralyzed her tongue from responding for moments.

I had hit her at the core; in that mindset that sees the whole world as just a bed and physical deals.

I kept my gaze fixed on her eyes with an unyielding coldness, as if challenging the remnants of her pride that I had just crushed.
