My Great Escape Led Me to You (Emily Blair) novel Chapter 1335

Outside the hospital window, as dawn began to break, snowflakes drifted lazily through the air. The heavy snowstorm the weather forecast had been predicting for days had finally arrived. It was the first snow of the year in the city, and a thin, pristine layer of white already dusted the ground.

The door to the hospital room had been left ajar, allowing the murmurs of people passing in the corridor to drift inside.

"It's finally snowing. The first snow feels so much later this year compared to the past."

"Yeah, almost a month late. Let's go down and take a look!"

A young couple walked past Emily's door. The girl clasped her hands together excitedly. "Have you heard the old superstition?"

"What superstition?" the guy asked.

"They say if a couple watches the first snow of the year together, and they're meant to be, they'll stay together forever and get married soon. But if it's not true love, they'll break up within two weeks."

The girl nudged him. "So? Are you brave enough to go down and watch it with me?"

The boy chuckled. "You actually believe that stuff? It's obviously just a myth. Don't be so gullible."

The girl's voice took on a pouty edge. "What's that supposed to mean? I'm just asking you to watch the snow with me, and you're turning me down?"

The boy's tone instantly softened. "No, no, that's not it. You're still recovering. We can just watch it from the window here. I don't want you catching a cold outside. Watching it indoors counts too, right?"

Though she pretended to be reluctant, the smile in her voice gave her away. "Fine, I guess."

The warm, romantic vibe from the hallway perfectly mirrored the electric joy inside the hospital room.

By the bed, Elizabeth was practically vibrating with excitement, clapping her hands enthusiastically and cheering like she was ready to set off fireworks. Rose stood beside her, beaming at the newly engaged couple.
