My Harvest Skill for Wasteland Survival novel Chapter 40

Chapter 40 Compensation

Victor looked at Reina for a moment, then pulled back his sharp aura, like he believed her.

“Get out. We’re at the infirmary,” he said flatly.

Then he answered her earlier question. “Mid- and high-grade energy blocks are scarce. I can’t give you those. Think of something else.”

Reina and Ursula looked at each other, totally on the same page. They said at the exact same time, “Thery give us a car. A used SUV is fine.”

Victor’s mouth twitched. He frowned. “Can you ask for something realistic?!”

Reina shot back, “This is a ‘no,’ that’s a ‘no-so what do you have?”

“How about points?”

Victor spoke seriously, “Resources are tight in the camp right now. We probably can’t give you what you want. I’ll make the call-50,000 points each. You can buy what you need later at the base.”

Ursula’s eyes lit up instantly. She nudged Reina with her arm, telling her to agree.

“Fine. Thanks, Captain Langley.” What else could Reina say? She held out her smartwatch for the transfer.

As soon as the payment notification came through, Reina instantly hunched over, clutching her chest as she got out of the vehicle.

Ursula followed, barely able to hide the grin on her face.

“Reina! Are you okay?” Chloe ran over with her brother and sister-in-law, quickly supporting her and asking about her injuries.

They didn’t see how Reina got hurt, but news about the beast crushing the frontline squad had already spread.

So Chloe and Dylan came to the infirmary. Sure enough, they saw Reina getting out of an armored vehicle.

“I’m okay,” Reina said softly, leaning against Chloe. She glanced up at the sky, looking for the little magpie.

No surprise, it was gone. No birds left in the sky. They must’ve flown elsewhere.

After an hour in the infirmary, Reina was treated by a healer. All her internal pain and hidden injuries disappeared, and her Energy recovered quickly too.

This time, she didn’t use her Eye of Insight. Instead, she asked the healer, “How many points does one treatment cost?”

The healer was a woman in her 40s, serious and expressionless. But hearing the question, her tone softened a bit. “Depends on the injury. If it’s minor, 500 points. If it’s serious, it’s 1,000 per session, and it usually takes a few days of treatment.”

Reina clicked her tongue, but it was still acceptable.

Chapter 40 Compensation

If she ever ran out of Energy and needed it urgently, she could just come here for treatment instead.

“Can we add each other? I’ll come to you next time I’m hurt.” Reina held out her smartwatch.

The healer was cool with it, so they added each other.

Reina checked her profile-her name was Sabrina Tuffin, a Level 2 Healer, officially assigned to Greenfinch Base, currently working at Camp 98’s infirmary…

After saying goodbye, Reina went to check on Ursula.

Ursula had just been brought out of surgery. Her left arm was tightly wrapped.

They talked for a while, then Reina left the infirmary with Chloe supporting her.

At the entrance, they ran into that blond-haired guy again. He had a group with him, arguing with a pale faced man.

“Merrick! Why didn’t Ursula’s points go into the family account? We’re family, and we did the mission together. Are you trying to keep all 50,000 points for yourselves?”

Merrick Grisham looked furious but couldn’t get a word out.

Others chimed in, “Exactly. She was representing the whole family on that mission. You can’t just keep the points for yourselves. If everyone does that, this family’s gonna fall apart.”

“Then let it fall apart!” Merrick finally snapped. He shoved the blond guy aside and stumbled toward the infirmary.

They froze, then tried to follow, but the guards blocked them.

“No unauthorized entry!”

The guards had heard everything and clearly looked down on them, so they refused to let them in.

In the end, the group left, still cursing. “Fine! Keep those 50,000 points and cut ties with the family! Damn it! One with a broken arm, one with messed-up mental energy! Let’s see who’ll take you two losers into a team!”

Reina watched them leave, confused.

How did everyone know about Ursula getting 50,000 points? She didn’t see Ursula message anyone.

Then she remembered. Oh! She did take a call from her husband. Maybe she mentioned it then. I didn’t notice.
