My Harvest Skill for Wasteland Survival novel Chapter 41

Chapter 41 Getting Ready

Reina sent the message and lay back on the wooden bed.

Thinking about what just happened still made her uneasy.

She was too weak. She had to get stronger-fast.

Otherwise, she’d always be pushed around like this.

If she were Level 4, who would dare point a gun at her and send her out as bait?

Falcon Mercenary Corps, huh? You’ve got my attention now. I’ll deal with all of you later, scums.

“Reina, get up and wash your face. I brought some water.” Chloe had been busy helping out and brought over a basin of fresh water, calling for Reina to wash up.

“Thanks.” Reina sat up, but before she could even get out of bed, Chloe pressed a towel to her face and scrubbed hard.

Reina was baffled.

Seriously… It’s not like I can’t move. This is a bit much.

Chloe grinned. “Just stay in bed. Falcon Corps might come check on you later. Just say you still have internal injuries and can’t move.”

Reina washed her hands in the basin and nodded.

“And one more thing.” Chloe rinsed the towel and kept wiping Reina’s hands. “While you were out, Falcon Mercenary Corps went room to room searching. A lot of people fought back. They even killed two people on the spot.”

“Searched the rooms? For what?” Reina frowned.

“Meds and food. If they see someone has more supplies, they just take them. Luckily, we don’t have much, so they didn’t bother us.”

“Aren’t they afraid the civilian teams will team up and fight back?”

“How? People aren’t united. And most teams have families. If you resist, they’ll make an example out of you.”

Chloe sighed and sat on the edge of the bed, looking worried. “I don’t know when we can leave. If we stay trapped like this for a few more days, people might start gating each other.”

Just then, a series of massive booms echoed from outside the camp.

Reina jumped up and ran to the window.

“What’s going on?” Chloe squeezed next to her to look.

The camp walls were shaking violently, like something massive was slamming into them.

Chapter 41 Getting Ready

“Oh no! It’s the Ironthorn Beasts!”

The one in the pit must’ve been killed by the mercenaries. Now the other two beasts were furious,

Reina quickly turned back and started packing. “Go tell your brother and sister-in-law to get ready. We might need to run for our lives any second!”

Chloe froze for a second, then nodded frantically and ran out like the wind.

Reina shut the door and put her protective suit back on. After a quick thought, she only packed a small backpack-some mutant rabbit meat and a few nutrition bars.

Leftovers from before. Good enough for now.

Just as she was about to leave, she glanced at the window. Maggie flew in and landed right on her shoulder.

“Chirp! Chirp!”

It tilted its head, looking around, then gently used its beak to fix her messy hair.

Reina smiled, stroked its feathers, and fed it a few pieces of cooked mutant rabbit meat.

“There’s gonna be a big fight soon. Maggie, fly outside and find somewhere to hide. Don’t get caught in the

crossfire.”

After gulping down the meat, Maggie let out a few chirps and flew back out the window.

Reina picked up her chipped machete, then suddenly remembered the horn she brought back.

She bent down and dragged it out from under the bed, frowning.

How am I supposed to carry this?

Her beast hide pouch was already full. No matter how she tried, the five-foot horn wouldn’t fit.

She stared at it for a moment, then got an idea. She used her Harvesting Ability on it.

Ding! “Energy -1. Harvest successful. EXP +10. Gained a pure-quality Level 5 Ironthorn Beast horn. Contamination value: 9. Can be used as high-grade weapon material.”

Whoa! It worked!

The horn shrank to about three feet. Reina almost laughed out loud.

Not only was it shorter, but it was also thinner. Not easy to hold with one hand, but way less bulky than before.

She tested the weight-about 30 pounds, 20 pounds lighter than before-but still a bit inconvenient to

carry.

So she used the skill again.
