My Harvest Skill for Wasteland Survival novel Chapter 42

Chapter 42 The Camp Fell

If she carried it on her back, she might accidentally hurt someone. That would just cause more trouble.

After thinking it through, it was better to put it in her beast hide pouch. Once she got back to base, she could have someone shape a proper handle.

Reina took out some kangaroo meat cubes and wiped the whole horn down, then wrapped the sharp tip with her old pants, and silently willed, Store.

The horn vanished.

So shrinking it first did the trick.

Feeling pretty proud, Reina picked up the black residue left from the harvesting and tossed it out the

window.

She had no idea that as the powder drifted into the wind, it made the giant beasts outside even more agitated.

When she got to the second floor, Chloe and Dylan were packing.

They had several big backpacks, all filled with daily supplies.

“Reina, are we leaving now?” Chloe asked nervously.

She had just seen a high-definition, uncensored video of the giant beast stomping the vanguard squad earlier that morning. It almost made her puke.

If that happened to her, she’d end up the same.

“Let’s wait and see,” Reina said. “If the beast breaks through the wall, it’ll hit the buildings. That’s when we

leave.”

Right now, the camp gates were still closed. They couldn’t leave even if they wanted to. They had to wait until the mercenaries couldn’t hold it anymore and started to retreat-then they could follow them out in the chaos.

“Okay!” Chloe nodded and followed her family downstairs with their bags.

Other residents in the building saw them and started packing too.

Reina stepped out of Building 7 first. On the way, she got a message from Ursula, “Reina, looks like the camp’s about to fall. Where are you?”

“I’m planning to head back to the base with some friends,” Reina replied.

Ursula replied instantly, “Wait for me! Can my husband and I go with you?”

Even though she didn’t agree with leaving before, now she was panicking too.

It was fine during the day, but at night, the mutant beasts hiding in the wilderness all came out to circle the

camp.

Chapter 42 The Camp Fell

If the walls really fell, it would be a bloodbath.

Ked

“Sure, but I can’t guarantee we’ll make it back safely,” Reina replied. She had to make that clear. Otherwise, it would become her responsibility.

Ursula replied, “I trust you. Even with a broken arm, I’m still fast. My husband has a fire ability. He can protect himself. If anything happens on the road, it’s not on you. Don’t worry about it.”

“Alright. I’ll be waiting outside Building 7.”

After sending the message, Reina checked a transfer notification.

Victor really sent her 30,000 points. He even added a note, “Cost of advanced gear and a flamethrower, plus 10,000 for medical expenses.”

Reina narrowed her eyes and smiled.

What a nice guy.

Too bad nice guys don’t last long. That “moderate genetic damage” in his stats isn’t a good sign.

It probably meant Victor had taken some kind of low-quality awakening potion before. That’s why he already had genetic damage at just Level 4.

Once it reached severe damage, his genes would collapse and mutate.

Just like those twisted beasts in the wild, turning into monsters covered in dark energy.

Her teachers back in school used to say that plenty of high-level ability users in the Federation turn into

monsters every year.

But it usually happens to those at Level 6 or higher.

The only way to treat it was to find rare treasures deep in the wilderness.

Reina had never seen one herself, but she’d seen videos and pictures online.

Though a lot of people said those were fake, and that nothing in this world could cure genetic collapse.

Everyone had their own opinion. Reina didn’t believe any of them.

Boom! A huge crash shook the camp. The outer wall was smashed open, leaving a gaping hole.

Dust filled the air as a massive beast smashed through the

gap.

“ROAR!”

It charged straight at the armored vehicles.

The mercenaries scrambled to jump out and run; those who weren’t fast enough were instantly flattened into scrap metal along with their vehicles.
