My Husband Married My Best Friend (by Evelyn Eugen) novel Chapter 2

Chapter 2

"My two sons spend all day studying medicine, and they're almost thirty but still not married. When will I ever have grandchildren?" Daniel sighed, pretending to be helpless.

Everyone present knew that today was a family marriage banquet, and Daniel was looking to choose marriage partners for his two sons.

Jared, born to Daniel's ex-wife, is highly gifted and renowned in the medical field.

Jeremia, born to Daniel's current wife, once sparked controversy over his status but won everyone's favor with his gentle nature.

In his previous life, Jeremia had already investigated everyone attending the banquet.

His medical talent couldn't compare to Jared's, and he didn't diligently practice medicine, so he wanted to have a smart child to make up for his shortcomings in medical skills.

So, he had long decided to choose me as his marriage partner.

But in this life, he didn't even glance at me. Instead, he walked straight to Talia, took her hand in front of everyone's astonished eyes, and said, "I like you. Will you marry me?"

Everyone present was stunned and quietly asked who that woman was.

Talia's family had some assets, but they weren't even on the guest list.

She liked Jeremia and begged me to bring her in.

At the time, I didn't think much of it because marriage alliances were based on family backgrounds. Her presence wouldn't make a difference.

Daniel frowned and asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure?"

Jeremia smiled and nodded. "Actually, I've liked Ms. Porter for a long time, and today I took the chance to confess and propose to her."

He looked at Talia affectionately.

Talia's eyes reddened with excitement, and she quickly agreed, "I’m willing to marry you!"

At that moment, Jeremia seemed to glance at me unintentionally.
