Chapter 4
People in the circle all say Talia is Jeremia's true love, and the two are considered a model couple.
Jeremia cares a lot about Talia's health and bought her many supplements.
To protect her, he even argued with Freya.
He almost always gives in to her, earning the media's title of "ideal husband."
But somehow, my news spread to the hospital where I work.
"The day after their wedding, her husband went on a business trip. Sofia really is just a pawn in a marriage alliance. Maybe Jared has someone he loves out there!"
"Could be! What's the point of a grand wedding? Marriages in wealthy families are just mutual benefits."
Colleagues at the hospital talked about me behind my back.
I don't even know who I offended; even the media started spreading rumors that Jared was forced to marry a woman he doesn't love and avoids coming home after the wedding.
And these rumors about me finally erupted completely at a family dinner.
After a year apart, Talia doesn't seem as great as others claimed.
Her figure was out of shape, her eyes filled with exhaustion, and a few pimples appeared on her face.
When she saw me, shock and jealousy flashed in her eyes. "Sofia, I didn't expect you to be doing so well without Jared around."
