My Husband's Affair My Anniversary Gift (Lily and David) novel Chapter 347

Jabco was not just angry. He was scared. The two days without knowing where she was tore something inside him. He imagined every worst possibility. When he found out she was with Lennox, jealousy mixed with fear, turning into rage. He did not know how to express that fear, so it came out as control.

“Did you ask me?” Riyana said coldly.

“Before you ran back to your ex-girlfriend? No. So why should I explain myself?”

She pulled her face free from his grip.

“And don’t forget,” she added, her voice sharp, “we don’t have that kind of relationship where I need to report my movements to you.”

Jabco took a deep breath.

“Riyana,” he said, trying to control himself, “I don’t want to fight right now. I just want an explanation. That’s all.”

He paused, then asked directly, “Why were you with Lennox?”

He knew pressing her emotionally would only push her further away. So he chose a straight question.

Riyana laughed, but there was no humor in it.

“Then explain something to me first,” she said. “Why were you with your ex-girlfriend in a hotel? Why did you run to her after we fought?”

There was no softness left on her face. Only anger.

Jabco frowned.

“How do you even know Elara is my ex?” he asked sharply. “I never told you that.”

Riyana’s eyes hardened.

“Don’t forget,” she said calmly, “I was your secretary. If I wanted to know something, I could. Just like how you dug into my past.”

She stepped closer, her voice dropping.

“Now stop changing the topic and answer me,” she said. “Why did you marry me when you were still so in love with your ex?”

Silence fell between them.

This question was the real wound. Everything before was just surface anger. This was the core. Riyana had been carrying this doubt from the beginning. The pictures only confirmed her fear. Jabco marrying her while still holding feelings for Elara made her feel like a replacement, not a wife.

Jabco’s face darkened.

“You think I married you because of Elara?” he asked slowly.

“Then what?” Riyana snapped. “Because it wasn’t love.”

His hands clenched at his sides.

“I married you because I wanted to,” he said firmly.

Riyana let out a bitter smile.

“That’s the biggest lie I’ve heard.”

She turned to walk away again.

Jabco grabbed her wrist this time, not gently.

“You think running away with another man will solve everything?” he said. “You think that doesn’t hurt me?”

She stopped.

“Hurt you?” she repeated softly.

She turned back, eyes blazing.

“You hurt me first,” she said. “Every single time you choose other woman. I thought you likes Lily but no now , suddenly your ex girlfriend come up"

Riyana was not jealous just because Elara existed. She was hurt because Jabco never clearly chose her. His silence, his distance, his pasts all made her feel unwanted. She know he has nothing to do with Lily but she can't be sure about Elara. Seeing him with Elara felt like confirmation that she never mattered enough.

“I didn’t choose her or anyone ,” Jabco said angrily. “You’re my wife.”

“On paper,” Riyana replied immediately.

The words hit him hard.

“You think I didn’t look for you?” he said, voice rough. “I didn’t sleep. I didn’t eat. I thought something happened to you.”

She hesitated for a fraction of a second.

Then her anger took over again.

For the first time, fear crept into his chest.

Not fear of losing control.

Fear of losing her.

Riyana had almost reached the bedroom door when Jabco spoke again.

“You think walking away makes you right?” he said.

His voice was calm now. Too calm.

Riyana stopped.

Slowly, she turned back.

“I’m walking away because talking to you is useless,” she replied. “You only hear what you want.”

Jabco laughed softly. It was not a warm sound. It was empty.

“Funny,” he said. “I could say the same about you.”

He walked toward her, step by step, not rushing, like a hunter closing distance. Riyana felt it. Her body stiffened, her fingers curling into fists.

“You disappear without telling me,” he continued, “turn off your phone, let the whole world see you with another man, and then you come back acting like you did nothing wrong.”

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” Riyana snapped. “Don’t twist this.”

“You humiliated me,” Jabco said sharply.

That made her laugh. Loud and bitter.

“Humiliated you?” she repeated. “Do you have any idea how humiliating it was for me to see my husband with another woman all over the news? Again and again"

This was not about pride anymore. This was about dignity. Riyana felt exposed, judged, and small every time the world saw Jabco with Elara. People whispered. People compared. And she was always the invisible wife in the background.

“You knew what you were getting into when you married me,” Jabco said coldly. “You knew my life.”

“And you knew my limits,” she shot back. “Or did you just not care?”
