Chapter 10 To Officially Renounce Him
Finn listened to me carefully.
I watched his whole body quiver, and I knew he got it. I was reminding him of his promise.
On our wedding day, Grace was more excited than anyone.
She tried on my dress, practiced tossing the bouquet, and slid my ring onto her finger to see how it looked.
Right before the ceremony, she lost the ring, probably deliberately.

To soothe me, Finn said, “Ella, Grace was just so happy for us. She didn’t mean to lose it. I swear, as soon as the wedding’s o find the best jeweler in the world to tailor a ring for you.”
Even though I felt indignant, I couldn’t make a scene in front of guests at the venue.
So, we swapped in a cheap rhinestone at the last second.
However, during the six years, Finn had never fulfilled his promise.
I never received the diamond ring that was supposed to be mine.
Ironically, Grace was wearing couture on her back and custom diamonds on her finger, a private commission from some high designer.
The story gave me a dark sense of humor.
Now, Finn was pleading, “Ella. Please come back. I’ll get you a ring. It’ll be the most expensive one as long as you come back me.”
His voice cracked, and his eyes were wet.
I just shook my head when hearing his words in my ward.
In truth, the ring was never the point.
I only wanted him to care about me, understand me, and prioritize everything about me.
Finn was capable of that.
However, the person who could make him do those things was Grace, not me.
Therefore, i didn’t need him anymore.

Hooked straight at Finn through the screen and continued, “One more thing I never told you. I’m not an orphan. I’m from the Scott family, the richest family in this city.
