My Mates Chose The Other Girl novel Chapter 26

Chapter 3

My mother once told me that Mason’s father had gone to great lengths to arrange this marriage with our family. If he

found out his son had ruined it himself, Mason would be in serious trouble.

That thought alone made me feel a lot better. I couldn’t be bothered arguing with these fools anymore, so I turned

around and prepared to leave.

But Aubrey wasn’t done. Emboldened by Mason’s support, she stepped in front of me again, blocking my way.

“Bitch! Don’t even think about leaving! You stole my dress and hit me! We’re not done yet!”

I glanced at her with utter disdain. “So? What do you want to do about it?”

Aubrey assumed I was scared. She raised her hand, ready to slap me.

“Obviously, I won’t stop until I’m satisfied.”

I caught her wrist mid-air and slapped her hard across the face.

She stared at me in disbelief. “You bitch! How dare you-”

Before she could finish, I slapped her again, my voice cold. “Is that satisfying enough?”

Those two slaps knocked the arrogance right out of her. With tears welling in her eyes, she staggered back and hid

behind Mason.

“Mason, you have to stand up for me!”

Mason pulled her into his arms protectively and glared at me. “You laid hands on my people. You must have a death

wish.

He waved at his bodyguards. “Take her down.”

I moved first, knocking one of them to the ground. But I could only take on one. The second soon landed several blows.

and pain shot through me as I collapsed. The guards hauled me up and dragged me in front of Mason and Aubrey

Mason turned to Aubrey and said gallantly, “Aubrey, you can do whatever you want with her today. I’ve got your back”

With his words as her shield, Aubrey gained new confidence. She slapped me twice, then spat in my face.

“Bitch! Weren’t you acting tough just a second ago? Go on, show me that attitude now!”

Then she kicked me hard in the stomach.

Clutching my aching belly. I looked up at her and Mason.

“You’ll regret treating me like this. I swear I won’t let you two get away with it.”

Aubrey cackled wildly. The Cruz family is one of the top three powerhouses in Asteria City. And you? You’re just a broke

nobody. What are you going to fight me with?”

“Let me teach you what happens when you cross me!”

She pulled a nail clipper from her purse and slashed it across my face.

A sharp, burning pain tore across my cheek. My skin swelled and blood began to trickle down.

Some bystanders murmured in pity.

“I told her not to mess with the Cruz family, but she wouldn’t listen. Now she’s paying the price.”

“She had such a beautiful face… It’s such a shame.”

“For ordinary folks like us, sometimes it’s better to swallow your pride.”

Aubrey raised the nail clipper again. The terror of being permanently disfigured overwhelmed me, and I quickly begged

for mercy.

“I was wrong. You can have the dress. I shouldn’t have argued with you over it.”

Revenge could wait. Right now, protecting my face was more important.

But Aubrey slashed me again. “Bitch! Now you want to beg? Too late!”

“I won’t rest until I’ve punished you properly.”

I screamed in pain and turned to Mason, desperate. “Mason, aren’t you afraid of who I really am? If you keep letting her do this, you’ll regret it!”

Mason sneered. “Who are you, really? Just the daughter of that seductress your dad fell for. My father only agreed to this

engagement because she bewitched him.”

A flicker of cruelty flashed in Aubrey’s eyes. “If your mom’s a homewrecker, that makes you a little slut. I’ll strip you down right now and get rid of that stink!”

“No-!”

At that moment, my phone rang from inside my bag. I struggled to reach it, but Aubrey snatched it before I could.

She swiped to answer the call, and my mother’s voice came through clearly.

“Sloane, how’s the dress shopping going?”
