Transmigrated to Roise Panther Cubs
Chapter 309 If You Can’t Sleep, Do Laundry
Matthew fell silent.
Zachary turned to look at him. “Do other families do this too?”
After a brief pause, Matthew replied, “It’s more effective training.”
Zachary helped Jaden get dressed and asked gently, “Are you tired?”
“A little,” Jaden admitted quietly. “But I’ll be fine after one night’s sleep.

Standing behind Zachary, Matthew fixed Jaden with a lingering stare, clearly attempting to intimidate him into silence.
Jaden lowered his eyes and pretended not to notice.
Zachary scooped Jaden into his arms and walked away without another word. Once they got home, he poured the child a bowl of boba and cut up some fruit for him.
Matthew sat nearby, staring at the empty stone table in front of him. A faint sense of unease crept into his heart. Tentatively, he said, “I’m a little thirsty.”
Zachary immediately poured him a huge bowl of water.
Matthew silently drank the plain water while contemplating how to restore his image as a loving father. Unfortunately, before he could come up with a plan, dinner ended, and he was promptly banished next
door.
Afraid his Alpha would crush his bed, Jaden had secretly moved it away while Matthew was bathing. It had taken him considerable effort.
That left only a bare stone bed inside the cave.
Purely natural.
Smooth.
Completely lacking bedding.
Jaden had actually been rather thoughtful. During summer, sleeping on stone was cool and refreshing. The problem was that after spending an entire night on it, a person’s back would be so stiff they could probably march straight to a flag–raising ceremony the next morning.
Matthew crossed his arms and leaned against the cave wall in frustration. His hair was still dripping wet, but he couldn’t be bothered to deal with it.
A sharp click sounded from the neighboring doorway, and Zachary emerged carrying a pile of items. Matthew immediately looked up, his eyes lighting up. “I-”
Before he could finish, Zachary stuffed a rolled mat, bedding, and pillows into his arms. “Make your own bed.”

Supporting the pile with one arm, Matthew quickly grabbed Zachary’s wrist with the other. His attitude was remarkably sincere won’t make Jaden fetch sticks anymore.”
Zachary glanced at him and reached for the door. Matthew immediately blocked it, gripping the frame tightly with all five fingers. His expression remained perfectly calm.
He was very confident about one thing—Zachary would never slam the door on his hand. But even if he did, it wouldn’t matter. Zachary would definitely feel bad afterward, and Matthew could take the opportunity to slip inside.
With that thought in mind, he deliberately pushed his hand even farther into the doorway. There was even a trace of anticipation in his eyes. Sure enough, Zachary paused. “What are you doing?”
Taking advantage of the opening, Matthew squeezed half his body through the doorway. As always, he apologized first. “Sorry.”
“Oh, so you know this was wrong?”
Matthew nodded against his conscience while his gaze drifted past Zachary’s shoulder toward the large bed inside the cave. Fresh from his bath, Jaden was dressed in a loose tank top and shorts. He lay comfortably in what had previously been Matthew’s spot.
Matthew secretly ground his teeth. Who keeps saying this cub is well–behaved?!
After thinking about it, he realized that practically everyone in the tribe thought so.
Meanwhile, Zachary struggled to pry Matthew’s fingers off the doorframe.
“Why do you still do it then?”
A therian’s strength was no joke. Even after considerable effort, he had only managed to bend back one index finger.
Half–serious and half–lying, Matthew said, “When I was little, I played like that too. It’s a game.”
The only difference was that after Matthew’s own Alpha had taken him out for two rounds of stick- fetching, he’d immediately realized something was wrong. He’d rebelliously thrown away the stick and challenged his father directly.
He hadn’t won.
Instead, the giant black panther had grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and carried him all the way home. By the time he was dropped onto the ground, his head had been spinning.
Still, there was no question that Matthew had quickly seen through the so–called “training exercise” for what it really was–a prank.
Jaden, however, was much more obedient than he’d been. Or perhaps he was simply biding his time under the oppression of evil forces.
Like now.

The kid had quietly landed a devastating blow–Matthew had a bed he couldn’t sleep in and a mate he couldn’t hold.
Zachary snorted. “It’s only a game when both sides agree to it. If it’s one–sided, that’s called bullying. You’re bigger, older, and stronger than him.”
Matthew naturally didn’t possess Zachary’s gift for arguing. The few sentences he’d managed earlier had already been an exceptional performance. All he could do was accept the accusations.
Still, he managed to identify the least important detail and focus on it. “I’m not old. Twenty–nine is very your g for a therian.”
But Zachary couldn’t be bothered with him. “Let go.”
And to make matters worse, Matthew had been tormenting him in bed night after night lately. That earned him an additional charge on top of everything else. Zachary was reaching his limit and intended to settle all accounts at once.
Over time, after countless battles against numerous romantic rivals, Matthew had gradually learned a different strategy. He looked directly into Zachary’s eyes. “I carried a lot of stones today. The sun was beating down the whole time.”
Zachary replied immediately, “You still had enough energy to throw sticks around. Put a little more force into it, and you’d probably throw one clear over the mountain.”
Matthew fell silent at once.
When it
me to Matthew, Zachary had learned the hard way.
Again.
And again
And again.
And again.
Eventually, he’d finally gotten wise.
Whenever Matthew claimed he was tired or uncomfortable, it all magically disappeared the moment he got into bed. With that level of energy and enthusiasm, the man looked capable of digging up three acres of potatoes without taking a break.
Matthew lowered his gaze. “I can’t sleep alone.”
Zachary thought for a moment, then said, “Stand right there. Don’t move.”
Matthew immediately straightened up. He assumed his mate had relented and was going to bring a pillow over before sleeping beside him next door. Obediently, he stood perfectly still.
With that, Zachary turned and disappeared back into the cave only to emerge carrying anoth
