Transmigrated to Raise Panther Cubs

Jaden planted his front paws on Zachary’s shoulders and kept nuzzling his dark, rounded head against Zachary’s neck, then repeatedly licked his cheek with a warm, damp tongue.
Zachary was completely absorbed in the affection, so much so that it took him a moment to recall the water still boiling in the kitchen.
The refrigerator offered almost nothing inside. For the past few days, he had been drifting through life in a haze, relying on delivery food and instant noodles, with no energy left for groceries or cooking. Even the pasta and eggs in the kitchen were old stock from before.
Tomorrow, I really need to go grocery shopping. Jaden is still growing, and I can’t risk him going hungry. He needs proper meals. And if Matthew’s here as well, I’ll have to stock up and cookextra–otherwise it won’t be enough.
Since the regular bowls were too small, Zachary poured Jaden’s serving into a large soup basin. When he came out from the kitchen, Jaden had already transformed back into his human form. From where Zachary stood, only the back of that round head was visible, perfectly still as he stared at the television.
“Jaden, dinner’s ready,” Zachary called out.
The boy was so focused on the screen that he didn’t respond at first.
Zachary placed the bowl on the table, walked around behind the couch, and gently cupped Jaden’s cheeks from behind, giving them a light squeeze. “Time to eat.”
Jaden finally looked up. The moment he saw Zachary, he sprang to his feet and extended the remote control. “Sire, I don’t know how to turn it off.”
“You don’t need to.” Zachary took the remote from him and set it down on the coffee table. “Come on. Wash your hands first, then we’ll eat.”
The dining table was high, and the chairs were just as tall, so Zachary, worried Jaden wouldn’t manage, simply lifted him onto the seat.
Jaden’s feet couldn’t reach the ground, so they dangled in the air until Zachary brought over a small stool for him to rest them on.

The kid ran his fingers across the smooth tabletop, then over the white porcelain bowl. A tiny fish pattern caught his attention, and he tilted his head slightly. “Sire, the dishes here are really beautiful.”
Zachary’s eyes curved with amusement. “We have different styles too. I’ll show you
later.
“Go ahead and try it. See if you like it.”
The seasoning was well balanced and modern, making the dish taste good without effort. Jaden used his fork to twirl up a bite of pasta, took it in, and immediately nodded while chewing with puffed cheeks.
He had been our all day, and whatever food strangers had offered him was unfamiliar enough that he hadn’t dared to eat it. Now, starving, he leaned over the large bowl and ate with single–minded urgency, as if nothing else mattered.

Zachary felt a tightness in his chest watching him. He picked up his phone and ordered a cake from an absurdly expensive bakery.
The television kept playing cartoons, and Jaden kept sneaking glances at the screen between bites. Finding it endearing, Zachary moved the chair closer and angled it so Jaden could watch more comfortably while eating.
Now seated beside him, Jaden continued eating while watching, occasionally reacting to funny scenes and turning to share them with Zachary,
After finishing the meal, Jaden instinctively picked up his bowl to carry it to the kitchen, but stopped abruptly the moment he stepped inside. Everything inside looked completely unfamiliar compared to their home.
Zachary guided him through the space, pointing out and explaining the strange new appliances he had bought. He let Jaden try the faucet and even demonstrated how the gas stove worked.
Jaden’s eyes widened as he took everything in. At one point, he just stood still, staring up at the ceiling light for a long while.
Zachary eventually told him to return to the cartoons.
But habits were hard to break–washing dishes felt natural to both Matthew and Jaden. The boy shook his head firmly. “I’ll do it. Sire, you should go watch TV.”
Zachary let out a soft laugh. “Then we’ll do it together.”.
Side by side, they stood at the sink, cleaning everything in perfect rhythm.
The water heater in the bathroom was already ready. Zachary grabbed a short–sleeved pajama top, took a towel, and led Jaden into the bathroom.
Jaden paused inside, slightly lost, until his attention landed on the mirror above the sink. He stepped closer, seeing his reflection clearly for the first time, and pressed a hand against the glass. It felt cold like
ice.
He leaned forward on the sink, shifting his head left and right, then even opened his mouth slightly as if inspecting his teeth.
Zachary watched with quiet amusement. After letting him explore for a moment, he turned on the shower and adjusted the temperature.
The instant water sprayed down from above, Jaden spun around, eyes bright with amazement. “Sire, you can make it rain inside!”
Zachary chuckled. “Pretty incredible, huh?
“Alright, take your clothes off. Time for a bath.”
At first, Jaden had been shy about undressing in front of Zachary, but after so many repetitions, the hesitation had faded. He quickly stripped and stepped under the warm spray.
He looked up at the falling water. “The rain is warm.”

Zachary smiled and squeezed shampoo into his hands, working it into Jaden’s hair. White foam soon covered his head as Jades stood obediently.
“Sire, this soapberry scent is really nice. And it makes so many bubbles.”
“There are other fragrances too.” Zachary laughed softly, adding pomegranate body wash and gently scrubbing him clean. “Alright, close your eyes, I’m going to rinse it off now.”
