Charles was overjoyed. “Bro, you’ve made the right choice. I guarantee you won’t regret it.”
‘Of course I won’t,‘ Ray thought calmly. ‘But you definitely will.‘
Ray smiled and deliberately put on an eager, impatient air. “Charles, could you tell me more about this song–and- dance troupe? It’s freezing out here. How does the boss keep so many people alive in weather like this?”
Know yourself and know your enemy, and you’ll never lose a hundred battles.
Charles let out a chuckle. “Ordinary families couldn’t survive weather this hellish, of course! But Greenbow Group has a secret entertainment venue inside the company. You know how it is–when you’re into that sort of thing, you have to keep it discreet.
“Inside that place, there are saunas and all kinds of entertainment facilities–some you can imagine, and some you can’t.
“For confidentiality, the venue isn’t connected to the company’s power grid at all. It runs on its own generators. “So even though the power’s out everywhere else, our group isn’t affected one bit.
“That’s why we’re out collecting fuel–to keep those generators running.”
“Oh?” Ray nodded. As expected, it paid to ask.
One question, and everything was instantly clear.
That made it even less necessary to turn hostile right away. Charles would naturally lead him straight to Greenbow Group–and to that so–called secret venue.
Perfect. Saved him the trouble of searching on his own.
Both sides had their own calculations, and for the moment, things remained amicable. After finishing the fuel collection, they moved on to the next gas station.
So inefficient.
Watching them haul fuel one barrel at a time, Ray couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
When he collected fuel, he simply sent the entire tank straight into his other space–fast, clean, and incredibly efficient.
By the time they finished emptying this station, it was already getting late. They didn’t continue collecting fuel and instead hurried back to Greenbow Tower.
Greenbow Group was headquartered in Greenbow Tower.
The building stood fifty–six stories tall–symbolic, representing the fifty–six ethnic groups. Clearly, when Paul built it, he had been eager to curry favor with the authorities. He was a black–hearted man wearing a patriotic mask.
They parked the cars in the underground garage, then took the stairs up.
The generators only powered the secret venue. Supplying electricity to the entire building was out of the question.
Ray followed Charles’s group to the eighteenth floor.

He could clearly feel the change in Charles’s attitude the moment they entered Greenbow Tower. The friendliness
was gone.
Before, Charles had been polite because he needed to lure him in. Now that Ray was already here, where could he run? Why bother being courteous anymore?
Was it for the man, the car- or both?
Ray didn’t mind. He simply raised his guard. His spatial perception remained active the entire time. At his current level, he could keep it running continuously for half an hour, so he had no problem “splurging” a little.
When they reached the eighteenth floor, Charles removed a large framed picture from the wall. Behind it was an electronic keypad a password panel. He deliberately blocked Ray’s line of sight as he entered six digits.
Heh. Through spatial perception, Ray saw everything clearly.
