My Runaway Groom Came Back I Became His Aunt! novel Chapter 28

Chapter 4

I turned right into the alley and pushed open the basement door. Damp concrete and moldy air rushed

toward me.

“Elio? Mommy’s home. Look what I brought you…”

Silence filled the room.

My father sat trapped in his wheelchair, the only finger he could move pointing weakly toward the floor.

“Your father ruined Bianca. She has therapy twice a week because of him. And you?” His voice dripped with contempt. “You’re out there happily prostituting yourself like it’s your career.”

“You’re worthless. Why don’t you just die?”

He stared at me for a moment, stunned.

Then his anger exploded. “You’re beyond saving. Twenty thousand dollars. Right here. Right now. Take off your clothes.”

He slammed a black card onto the floor.

I dropped to my knees and grabbed it immediately. The moment it slipped into my purse, relief washed
