My Stepbrother's Dirty Little Secret novel Chapter 662

Chapter 662

I looked down at the lipstick stain again, “It appears someone disagrees.”

He pinched the bridge of his nose, “For the love of God… Do you have any idea how insane that girl is?”

I raised an eyebrow.

“We don’t even talk,” he held up the envelope, “She talks, I leave. She follows, I leave faster.”

I stared at him, I couldn’t even imagine Luca in that situation.

He grumbled something under his breath and then said, “She once sent flowers to my warehouse.”

I blinked, “What?”

“Then she somehow got into the training building.”

I frowned, “Security failed?”

“They didn’t fail,” Luca rubbed a hand over his face, “She baked cookies for every guard until they started letting her through the front gate.”

I was quiet, “That’s… effective.”

He looked down at the envelope again as though it had personally offended him, “She’s strange.”

He let out another slow breath before slipping the envelope into the inside pocket of his jacket with obvious reluctance.

“I’m not opening it here.”

“I assumed you wouldn’t. If that envelope contains glitter,” I tilted my head, “…then I wish you luck.”

For the first time all day, Luca looked genuinely pissed off, “I hate that you find this amusing. I haven’t even opened the last three.”

“You kept them.”

His eyes narrowed, “I kept them as evidence.”

“Evidence of what?”

“That she’s completely unhinged.”

I nodded once, “Of course.”

He shot me a flat look, “You don’t believe me.”

I slipped both hands into my pockets, “I do, but if Dante ever finds out about this…”

Before I could finish, Luca grabbed the front of my suit jacket and pulled me half a step toward him, “He won’t.”

I looked down at the hand fisted in my collar, then back at him, “I wouldn’t be so confident.”

He narrowed his eyes, “Raphael.”

I paused just long enough to make him wait “She might decide to send the next letter through Dante instead.”

For a second, Luca simply stared at me. Then he released my collar with a look that suggested he was shopter e. reconsidering whether we were actually brothers.

I sat at my desk. I knew I had walked here. I remembered pulling out the chair. I remembered opening the notebook.

Everything after that felt… missing.
