Chapter 731
I unrolled a small black leather pouch containing fine silver acupuncture needles, a pair of insulated wire strippers, a small bottle of conductive copper gel, and a handheld digital nerve-stimulation unit, a high- voltage medical device usually kept inside specialized labs.
Next to it sat my open laptop, its dark screen flickering with real-time biometric tracking software and a digital layout of the Toricelli island territory.
I slapped a wide strip of thick black tape across his mouth, then turned on a small, bright LED lamp, pointing the harsh white light straight into his face.
“I am going to ask you questions,” I said, “Every time you lie, delay, or give me half an answer, I will send a high-frequency electric pulse straight into your nervous system. It will bypass your skin and burn your nerves from the inside out.”
The man let out a gasp from his blood filled mouth, his eyes wide with blinding terror as he thrashed against the steel frame. The chair didn’t budge an inch.
I picked up the first silver needle and pushed it deep into the soft, sensitive pad beneath his right thumbnail. The metal slid in until it touched the bone.
He let out a muffled, high-pitched scream behind the black tape, his legs kicking violently against the chair legs.
I attached a thin copper wire to the head of the needle, connecting the other end straight to the digital stimulation unit. I daubed a drop of conductive gel over the entry point to make sure the current hit every single pain receptor.
I reached over and flipped the switch.
A sharp, high-voltage burst hit his nerve endings.
His whole frame slammed back against the chair, his jaw locking tight as his muscles convulsed in wild, uncontrollable spasms.
The pain wasn’t just on the surface, it vibrated right through his bones, making his eyes roll back into his head. His skin flushed dark red, sweat pouring down his forehead in thick beads.
I let the current run for six full seconds before turning the dial back to zero. He collapsed forward, gasping for air, saliva and tears dripping down his chin.
“P-please!” he sobbed, his voice cracking violently. “Please, don’t! I’ll tell you whatever you want! Don’t do that again!”
“What goes on on that island?” I asked, “I want the exact security detail. Where are the cameras? Where are the blind spots? Give me the shift schedules, the patrol routes, and every single entry point.”
“I don’t know!” he screamed, shaking his head frantically as tears streamed down his cheeks, “I swear to God, I don’t know! I don’t work security! I don’t know the cameras!”

My fingers hovered over the dial.
“Wrong answer,” I murmured.
“No, wait! Wait!” he shrieked, “I know nothing about the guards! I swear it! I only go there sometimes! I just deliver things! That’s all I do!”
I paused, my hand resting flat on the table, my dark eyes locked onto his twitching face.
“What do you deliver?” I demanded, leaning in until he could see his own terrified reflection in my eyes.
“P-pills!” he gasped out, his chest heaving as he tried to pull his body as far away from the wire as the chair allowed. “Just pills! Small boxes! I take them to the dock, hand them to the guard, and leave!”
My eyes narrowed, “What pills?” I asked, “What kind of pills are you taking to that place?”
“Drugs!” he cried out, completely broken, sobbing hysterically as the fear tore through him. “It’s drugs! High-grade sedatives and muscle blockers! I deliver drugs there!”
I didn’t move my finger from the key. The cold glow of the laptop screen lit up the sweat shining on his
