Noreen offered a weak struggle, reminding him between heavy breaths, "Time's up."
Seth refused to pull away, keeping his lips brushed against hers, his breathing even harsher than hers. "Thirty seconds left."
What a blatant lie!
"Stop messing around! She's coming down!" Noreen hissed in a hushed, panicked voice.
Seth honestly didn't care if they got caught.
Noreen knew that full well, so she had to resort to a different tactic.
Biting her lower lip, a misty sheen still clouding her eyes, she forced herself to lean into him.
Her slender fingers gently tugged at his shirt cuff, swaying slightly in a coaxing manner. "Be good. Just go home for now, okay?"
Her voice was as soft as melting cotton candy, the slight lilt at the end carrying a seductive vulnerability she rarely ever showed.
"I'll make it up to you later. I promise."
Dropping her voice to a sultry whisper, she leaned in close to his ear.
Her warm breath brushed tantalizingly against his skin as she made her final, lethal offer. "When I do... I'll let you do whatever you want."
Those words were a spark tossed straight into the smoldering inferno of Seth's gaze.
His pupils dilated instantly, and his Adam's apple bobbed with a hard swallow.
After a long moment.
He finally released her and stepped backward over the threshold.
Noreen let out a massive sigh of relief.
When the motion-sensor lights in the hallway flickered on, she clearly noticed the prominent evidence of his arousal.
Seth forced down the raging hunger in his eyes, his voice strained and tight. "Noreen, you'd better not back out of that promise."
Noreen's only response was slamming the door shut in record time.
Her heart was pounding like a jackhammer.
Her face felt like it was on fire.
