Afraid of waking Claire, Noreen instinctively tried to push him away.
But he pulled her fiercely into his arms, his left hand gripping her chin as he effortlessly claimed her mouth.
"Mmm..."
Her eyes flushed red from the intense kiss, and the soft moan that escaped her throat was quickly swallowed by his deepening invasion.
Just then, a thud came from the next room, as if Claire had rolled over and knocked something down.
Noreen's heart skipped a beat, her mind instantly clearing.
Taking advantage of the moment Seth paused for breath, she frantically clamped a hand over his mouth and hissed, "Quiet! Claire is right next door."
He stared at her panicked face with hazy, intoxicated eyes, his throat working as he swallowed.
He let out a low chuckle, his warm breath fanning across her palm as he spoke with a rogue's laziness. "Then you better hide me."
Noreen had originally intended to send him home.
But knowing he had been drinking and that it was the middle of the night, she couldn't bear to let him leave alone.
Besides, she had neglected him these past few days, and a twinge of guilt tugged at her.
In the end, feeling like a thief in her own home, she half-dragged the towering man into her bedroom and quietly clicked the door shut behind them.
The moment she pushed him down to sit on the edge of the mattress, Seth took advantage of the momentum to fall back onto her bed.
Stretching out a long arm, he roped her by the waist, burying his face in the crook of her neck. He nuzzled against her skin, his voice rough and full of grievance.
"It's one thing that you ignore me, but going to watch other men strip... Are you tired of me?"
Noreen was speechless.
Was this the reason he got drunk?
She kept her voice low as she explained, "It wasn't a striptease. It was an art performance."
"Just tell me if they took their clothes off or not."
She had no response.
She never knew this man could be so insanely jealous.
"Alright, it's getting late. I'll call someone to come pick you up," Noreen said, trying to distract him.
