Never Mistake a Queen for a Lapdog novel Chapter 1046

"Let's put it to a vote," Crystal demanded firmly, reminding Dylan again. "Everyone is waiting."

...

Claire had cooked an entire table full of Noreen's favorite dishes.

She didn't understand corporate politics and couldn't offer any professional help, so she simply wanted to comfort her friend in the only way she knew how.

Just like in the past, whenever Noreen was heartbroken over a breakup, Claire would make her a massive feast.

She would always tell her that a full stomach was the best cure for a broken heart.

But Noreen was acting as if everything was perfectly normal.

Even her appetite hadn't been affected in the slightest.

Since Noreen wasn't bringing it up, Claire didn't feel comfortable prying.

She was afraid of adding to her stress.

But that night, lying in bed, Claire tossed and turned, completely unable to sleep.

She racked her brain trying to figure out where she could get a massive sum of money to help Noreen weather the storm.

After agonizing over it for hours, she finally landed on a solution.

Sitting up in bed, she hesitated for a long time before finally dialing Felix Quigley's number.

He answered almost immediately.

His promptness caught Claire off guard, leaving her momentarily speechless.

After ten seconds of dead silence, Felix took the initiative. "Did you need something?"

Throwing caution to the wind, Claire blurted out, "You said before that if I didn't divorce you, you'd give me ten percent of the Quigley Group. Is that offer still on the table?"

Felix paused briefly. "It is."

Although the thought of staying married to him made her skin crawl.

If it meant saving Noreen, she was willing to choke down her pride and accept the deal.

"Are you free tomorrow? Let's talk in person," she said firmly.

He replied quickly this time. "Alright. You're in Rivercrest City, right?"

"Yes."

"I'll be there first thing in the morning."

"Okay," Claire agreed.

Then she hung up.

Felix immediately called his secretary. "Book the fastest flight to Rivercrest City."
