"There was indeed a man in Room 419 five years ago."
"But it wasn't you."
Seth leaned forward slightly, closing the distance toward the escort. His eyes were bottomless pits of freezing wrath.
"Because the man in that room with her..."
He paused for a fraction of a second, his voice dropping to a gravelly register that sent shockwaves through the entire room.
"...was me."
The words dropped, and the room was swallowed by a deathly silence.
Crystal's fingers seized violently, her pupils shrinking to pinpricks.
The triumphant smile on Gia's face completely froze.
The escort turned stark white, so terrified by Seth's predatory gaze that he didn't even dare lift his head.
He had taken Lillian's money to frame Noreen. Who the hell forgot to mention that the real guy was sitting right next to her?!
Seth didn't spare anyone else a glance.
He stood up straight, his thumb gently stroking the back of Noreen's hand in an undeniably possessive, comforting rhythm.
Only then did he issue an order to Jude. "Take care of him. Find every single person behind this, and don't let a single one off the hook."
"You got it!" Jude was more than happy to do the dirty work.
At the same time, he let out a massive sigh of relief.
No wonder Seth was so calm the entire time. He was the real 'escort'.
What a terrifying false alarm.
Claire finally let go of the wine bottle she had been gripping.
Thank god Seth stepped up, or she wouldn't have held back.
If he had waited one more second to speak, that bottle would have been smashed over the escort's head.
Seth sat back down beside Noreen, his hand still firmly holding hers.
His grip was astonishingly hot.
Noreen's mind was an absolute mess.
She couldn't process the timeline.
Crystal's face turned stark white, then flushed a furious, mottled red.
She wanted to scream, to accuse him of slander, but Seth gave her no room to speak.
He gently squeezed Noreen's hand in comfort, while delivering his final, devastating blow to Crystal.
Every word was crystal clear.
"I highly recommend you see a psychiatrist, Miss Chelsea. If you keep bottling up this obsession, you're going to turn into a complete psycho."
Crystal nearly choked on her own breath, her chest heaving as a suffocating wave of humiliation washed over her. She was clenching her hands so hard she didn't even notice the pain.
She came here to ruin Noreen, only to be publicly slaughtered by Seth.
Seth didn't spare her another glance. Pulling Noreen up, he said flatly, "Let's go. The air here is filthy."
Noreen completely agreed, standing up without hesitation to follow him out.
Claire started to follow them, but Jennifer yanked her back.
"Are you trying to be a third wheel?"
Claire laughed awkwardly. "I've been playing her knight in shining armor for so long, I forgot to turn it off."
