Never Mistake a Queen for a Lapdog novel Chapter 830

Noreen threw off the covers in a flash and shot him an angry glare.

But when she saw the blood-soaked bandage on his arm, she pressed her lips together.

Her gaze eventually softened.

She didn't need to be a genius to know the wound had reopened because he had carried her to the bed.

She got out of bed, gestured for Seth to lie back down, and went to the bathroom to quickly freshen up.

She used the makeup in her purse to do a quick touch-up.

After all, she was going to court today and might have to face reporters, so she needed to pay attention to her appearance.

She had a beautiful face, so even a light, casual application of makeup was enough to make her look elegant and lovely.

As soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, Seth's eyes followed her.

"What do you want for breakfast?" he started to say as he looked over.

But when he saw Noreen, he stopped, his voice trailing off.

He stared at her, his eyes filled with undisguised admiration.

The kind of admiration a man has for a woman.

His gaze made Noreen feel a bit uncomfortable. She instinctively tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "What do you want to eat?"

He said, "You."

A blush crept up Noreen's cheeks.

Realizing a moment too late that he'd said his thoughts out loud, Seth quickly cleared his throat. "I'll have whatever you're having."

His explanation made it seem like she was the one with her mind in the gutter.

Noreen struggled to remain calm. "I have things to do today, so I won't be having breakfast with you. You're on your own."

As she spoke, she gathered her things, not noticing how the light in the man's eyes behind her dimmed slightly.

Coincidentally, Dariel showed up just then, knocking on the door. "Miss Gilmore, Mr. Joyner is waiting for you in the car. He's asking how much longer you'll be."

To support their claim, they showed videos and photos of Castle visiting his late wife's grave every week.

This was a violation of Castle's privacy, and his expression changed instantly.

Reporters swarmed them, clamoring to interview Castle.

"Mr. Joyner, is what they're saying true? Is your engagement to Miss Gilmore fake?"

The laws in Harborview City were different from back home; the battle for public opinion was crucial.

The other party was clearly exploiting this to attack their weakness.

In front of everyone, Noreen affectionately linked her arm with Castle's, leaned her head naturally toward him, and faced the cameras with a bright smile.

"Our engagement is a significant milestone in our lives, and every step was taken with careful consideration. No matter what others may say, our love and commitment to each other will not change. We hope everyone can respect our choice and offer us their blessings."

*Crash.*

In front of the television, Seth slammed the remote control down hard.
