Chapter 40
Quennel’s eyes widened in clear astonishment. Before he could fully react, Victoria pulled
away.
“I’ve wanted to do that ever since last night when you were drunk.”
Victoria’s eyes were filled with adoration as she gazed into his. “Quennel, give me a chance,” she pleaded. “I want to be by your side, always.”
Her actions had clearly caught Quennel completely off guard. She deliberately ignored the distance in his eyes, and just as he was about to speak, she placed a finger on his lips.
“Don’t rush to reject me. Think about it. I’m not afraid to wait. I’ll always be waiting for you.”
With that, without waiting for his reaction, Victoria tilted her head, gave him a small smile, and turned to walk into Sapphire Group.
This entire sequence of events left several of Victoria’s colleagues, who were standing nearby, completely stunned.
On her first day at the company, Victoria had mentioned to her curious colleagues that she had a boyfriend.
One of the gossiping colleagues hurried to catch up with her.
“Victoria, you never told us your boyfriend drives a Rolls-Royce Phantom!”
“He’s so successful, and he even drives you to work himself. You two must be so in love!”

Stephanie tore her gaze away, unwilling to waste any more emotional energy on a relationship that had long since decayed.

Stephanie suppressed the bitterness in her heart and turned to leave.
Seeing her, Quennel suddenly got out of the call.
He stared at Stephanie’s face, unsure if she had witnessed what had just happened.
But even if she had, it didn’t matter. He wanted her to see it.
If she could have dinner with another man, he could certainly find his own excitement elsewhere.
It was only fair.
He had expected Stephanie to storm over and scream at him. But to his surprise, she merely gave him a cold glance before turning and walking into the building.
Quennel watched in shock.
