The day Easton flew back was a Friday.
Seraphina dolled herself up to the nines, saying she was going to a rich kid’s party.
Before she left, she glanced at the delivery box I’d just gotten and let out a scoff.
“Wow, your cheap online shopping finally arrived? This fabric looks so tacky. Aren’t your embarrassed to wear it out?”
I subtly tucked the five–figure designer dress behind me and gave her a sheepish grin.“What can I say? Broke girl life. As long as it covers the basics, right?”
Seraphina clicked her heels and left, the room heavy with her perfume.
I locked the door quickly, drew the curtains, and got to work transforming myself.
A shower, skincare, makeup, and curling my hair.
Staring at the stunning beauty in the mirror, with that captivating beauty mark at the corner of my eye, I could’ve fallen in love with myself.
Seraphina was the icy, ethereal type, and I was all bold, striking features.
If Easton really liked Seraphina’s type, I’d be walking into a disaster today.
But if he’s into my type…
My phone buzzed. Easton was here.
[Babe, I’m at the South Gate of your school. Black Maybach, license plate 8888.]
I took a deep breath, put on a mask and sunglasses, covered head to toe, and headed out.
When I reached the South Gate, I spotted the eye–catching Maybach the second I looked up.
A crowd of students had gathered around it, taking photos and chattering away.
“Damn, this car must cost at least ten million bucks, right?”
“And that plate? Insane. Which big shot is flexing on campus today?”
I pulled my cap down low, snuck over like a thief, pulled open the passenger door, slid in, and shut it in one smooth motion.

A faint cedar scent lingered in the car, warm and nice.
The man in the driver’s seat turned his head, his face even more striking than in his photos.
Sharp brows, bright eyes, a straight, high nose, a jawline so defined it could’ve cut my hand.
He wore a simple black shirt, the cuffs rolled up to reveal his firm forearms, a million–dollar watch glinting on his wrist.
I swallowed hard.
This man was perfection.
Easton looked at my spy–like getup and raised an eyebrow, his voice deep and husky. “Babe? Are you… on the run from debt?”
I took off my sunglasses and mask, flashing him an ingratiating smile. “Just being considerate. Didn’t want you starting a campus riot with that face.”
Easton stared at my face for a few seconds, his eyes playful. “You’re even prettier in person than in
the photo.”
He leaned in suddenly, his warm breath fanning my face, his finger brushing gently over the beauty mark at the corner of my eye. “This little mole? Perfect placement.”
My heart skipped a beat, my cheeks flushing uncontrollably.
The comments went wild.
[Ahhh! This insane chemistry!]
[Wait a minute! Isn’t Easton supposed to be mad? This girl looks nothing like Seraphina!]
[Are you blind? This girl is obviously way prettier than Seraphina!]
[Oh no! The guy’s a total face guy, the plot’s falling apart!]
Easton let out a soft chuckle and buckled my seatbelt for me.
“Let’s go, I know a place with good food.”
The engine purred to life, and we pulled away, leaving the chaos behind.
