The tense line of his shoulders relaxed almost imperceptibly, and he couldn’t stop his lips from curling into a smile.

Gone was the danger in his eyes, replaced by nothing but tenderness toward Emma. They seemed to shimmer gently even through the holo–monitor. “So, can I take that as a yes?”

His voice was still deep, but the strand of anxiety lacing his tone had been ousted by pure joy.

“Of course.” Emma nodded firmly. “As a reward for being so well–behaved, I’ll make sure that your gift will look exceptionally majestic.”

Drake’s smile deepened at her words. “I believe you.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll exceed your expectations, just you wait,” Emma said, all bubbly.

Drake lazily shifted into a different posture upon hearing her reply. His silk shirt slipped with the movement, revealing the firm lines of his muscles. “I’ll be waiting.”

He wasn’t just waiting for the gift; he was waiting for her to come back to him.

Drake probably had a feeling of what Emma was planning. So, he merely nodded agreeably and waited for her go–ahead.

She didn’t want Corvin to know that she knew about this new group chat so soon.

Silas, who was currently drinking tea with Lucien, grinned when he saw Emma’s message.

Silas quickly replied, “Sure.”

Then, he quickly sent Emma a link and said, “Use this. Corvin won’t be able to find out who you are for at least three hours.”

Emma wasted no time clicking on the link.

Then, she followed the instructions and managed to set a temporary replacement username on her lightcore ID.

Once that was done, she then deliberately chose the username, “Emma’s Favorite Sweetheart“. Then, she had Drake invite her into the new group chat.

Drake couldn’t help but chuckle when he laid his eyes on her username, tapping on his lightcore to invite her.

She then turned her attention back on Drake and said, “You did well. I’ll definitely reward you when I get back.”

Before they ended the call, Drake shot her a meaningful look and murmured, “Alright, I’ll be holding you to that.”

As the holo–monitor vanished from her eyes, Emma swiftly posted a message in the group under the username “Emma’s Favorite Sweetheart“, saying, “Hello, everyone. I just wanted to greet you guys since I’m a new addition to this family. I hope we will be able to get along well.”

Corvin, who was currently admiring his wood carving, immediately scowled when he saw that irritating username appearing in the group chat. He couldn’t help but stare at it in a mix of confusion and annoyance.
