She immediately thought of the two middle-aged junk collectors from earlier that day and Cyrus's warning before bed. Cautiously, she decided against using her phone for light and felt her way in the dark to her door.

"Mr. Cyrus?"

Claudia slipped into Cyrus's room and called his name softly.

In the darkness, a hand clamped over her mouth, pushing her into a small, double-doored cabinet under the desk.

Heeding Cyrus's silent warning, Claudia curled up in the small cabinet, her heart pounding with fear.

Her first thought was that intruders had broken into Grant Manor.

She couldn't be a liability to Cyrus.

A few minutes later, a beam of light suddenly shot into the room. The sound of the French doors shattering was followed by several unidentified figures rushing in from outside.

They all charged directly at Cyrus, who sat calmly in his wheelchair with only his aide, Oliver, by his side.

Peeking through a crack in the cabinet door, Claudia saw several assailants with daggers lunging at Cyrus in the chaotic, dimly lit room.

Claudia shoved York towards the attackers. "Quick, save Mr. Cyrus!"

Before York could even say a word of concern for Claudia, he was pushed into the fray.

In the chaos of the room, York had no time to react, moving swiftly to Cyrus's side.
