Claudia's soft, calm words made York's expression freeze on the spot.
He stared at her in disbelief, his injured body suddenly giving way as he sank to one knee on the floor.
Claudia had only known Cyrus for a short time.
Yet, when he and Cyrus were both in danger, she had unhesitatingly chosen to protect Cyrus, leaving him vulnerable.
Afterward, the first person she showed concern for was also Cyrus, as if she had forgotten he was even there.
He knew she hadn't forgiven him yet.
But he never imagined that Claudia would disregard his life so completely.
Oliver came in. "Mr. Cyrus, everything has been taken care of."
Cyrus instructed him, "Take Mr. Ferguson to the hospital."
Oliver quickly moved to help York up.
York, enduring the intense pain, shot Cyrus a dark look and warned, "You can set your traps all you want, but leave Claudia out of it. She's not like you!"
Cyrus's long, narrow eyes lowered slightly, his gaze falling on York's wounds.
He said slowly, "I don't know if Claudia is like me or not, but I'm very clear that right now, she's definitely not like Mr. Ferguson."
His words were heavy with implication.
York's face was terrifyingly grim. He grabbed Claudia's wrist and said, "Come with me."
Just then, York's father, Sewell Ferguson, initiated a video call.
Claudia, with a cold expression, forcefully shook off York's hand. York stumbled and collapsed onto the floor.
Cyrus watched silently.
So did Claudia.
York struggled to answer his father's video call.
Through the phone, Sewell immediately noticed something was wrong with his son. "York, where are you? Why do you look so pale?"
