No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 495

York was rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Claudia arrived home safely.

Peter and Darleen saw them to the door before heading back.

In the Watkins family living room, Claudia sat on the sofa, surrounded by her family as they anxiously asked if she was hurt.

"Dad, Mom, he just wanted to force me to remarry him. He didn't hurt me," she reassured them.

Felix sighed. "I always thought that boy was calm and steady. I never imagined he could be so reckless."

Rock Sayer, who now held a serious grudge against York, chimed in sourly, "Mr. Watkins, that's because you didn't see through him. People with high IQs are often a little twisted inside."

Jessica agreed with Rock. "Look at all the other major families—they all have siblings who support each other to maintain their footing. But he took over the Ferguson Group all by himself at such a young age. He outmaneuvered those old foxes on the board and beat his rivals in business. To hold such a high position so young… he’s not normal. We should stay far away from him from now on."

Claudia felt her mother was right.

Dealing with York carried a high risk of being manipulated.

"Don't worry," Claudia said, trying to calm everyone. "I've made things clear with him, and he promised not to bother me anymore. We'll both live our own lives peacefully from now on."

Her reassurances finally put their minds at ease.

Jessica stood up. "Claudia, go take a shower and get some rest. Your dad and I will make lunch. We'll have your brother call you when it's ready."

Rock pushed Claudia toward her room. "You must not have rested well these past few days. Go get some sleep. I'll call you when the food's ready."

Claudia patted Rock's freshly styled hair. "Master Sayer, thank you for looking after my parents while I was gone."

Claudia opened her phone to call Gideon but found the battery was dead.

She got out of bed to find her charger and nearly knocked over a small cardboard box on a shelf.

She opened it. Inside were old belongings from her high school days. Her mother must have forgotten to throw them out during the move and brought them along.

Claudia rummaged through the items casually, her eyes suddenly fixing on a small clay figurine.

She took it out of the box and noticed a distinct crack in its body.

Her mind drifted back to a weekend night, on the corner of a street fair. She had pestered York to go with her and had spotted a stall selling handmade clay figures.

She had insisted that the figurines looked better as a pair, so she had York sculpt one of her while she sculpted one of him.
