No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 531

Darleen bit back her words and went out to greet the visitor.

Soon, she returned to the office with a woman in her early thirties.

Mark hurried forward to greet her. "Eileen."

Eileen Wally smiled and nodded. "Assistant Mark, long time no see."

Eileen had a neat bob haircut. She wore a white chiffon blouse with three-quarter sleeves, a black pencil skirt, and high heels. Her makeup was tasteful, and she maintained a professional smile. Aside from a luxury watch on her wrist, she wore no other jewelry.

York approached her. "Assistant Wally, welcome back."

Eileen's tone became respectful. "Thank you for this opportunity, Mr. Ferguson."

"Darleen," York said, "from now on, Ms. Eileen and Mark will be your key assistants. They each have their strengths and will work together to support you."

Darleen's expression slowly turned serious. "Brother, are you planning to resign?"

"Once your appointment as Executive Vice President is finalized in a few days, I'll be taking some time off to rest," York replied.

Darleen didn't overthink it. Her brother's health was getting worse, so a proper rest was exactly what he needed.

Half an hour later, Darleen and Eileen left York's office together.

Darleen couldn't help but ask, "Eileen, did my brother mention how long he plans to be off?"

Eileen respectfully reminded her, "Miss Ferguson, it's best if you call me Assistant Wally."

Glancing at the colleagues passing by, Eileen used the pretense of wanting to see Darleen's office to steer them away from prying eyes and gossip.

Setting the food down, Peter bent over and gently lifted her, carrying her to the sofa. The movement woke her up.

Seeing Peter, Darleen sat up and leaned against him with her eyes still closed. "Peter, let me just rest for a few minutes. Don't go yet."

His heart ached for her. He pulled her into his arms. "York is a real piece of work, running a young girl like you ragged."

After a few more complaints, he looked down and saw that Darleen had already fallen asleep again, nestled against his chest.

The look of pity in Peter's eyes was unmistakable. He glanced furtively at the office door before leaning down and kissing Darleen lightly.

Peter's voice was tinged with a hint of sourness. "My little girl is finally growing up, even if she's still a bit clueless."

He carefully laid her down on the sofa, removed her high heels, and draped his own jacket over her. Then, he rolled up his sleeves and began to clean the office, which was messier than a pigsty.
