No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 83

Claudia knew perfectly well how much York loved Ann.

But hearing it from Ann's own lips still felt like a knife to the heart.

Seeing the pained look on Claudia's face, Ann's tone dripped with false sympathy. "York told me he can't give you love or children, only the title of Mrs. Ferguson. He begged me not to leave him. He said the only reason he won't divorce you is out of pity, and he's afraid you'll make a scene and embarrass everyone."

Claudia stood frozen, fighting for control.

Ann's tone was innocent, but her eyes were defiant. "We're both women, so I don't want to make things too difficult for you. But I hope, for the sake of the child, you'll leave York on your own. A child needs his father, a complete family."

Claudia struggled to maintain her composure. "If York loves you so much, he'll surely give you and your son a proper place. You don't need to be so impatient, Miss James."

With that, Claudia started to walk towards the building entrance.

Suddenly, Ann grabbed her arm.

She lowered her voice deliberately. "Miss Watkins, what's the use of clinging to the title of Mrs. Ferguson? The person York loves is me. You're just the third party between us!"

Claudia tried to yank her arm away, but Ann's grip tightened. "I slept with York the night I returned. You have no idea how passionate he was. He said that every time he slept with you these past years, he was thinking of me."

Claudia tore her arm free and slapped Ann hard across the face.

Even though she knew York had been unfaithful, hearing Ann's taunts firsthand made her lose all control.

Ann shrieked and fell to the ground.

The next second, York was there, rushing to their side.

"Ann!"

Ignoring the stabbing pain in her heart, she rolled up her sleeve. The bloody marks where Ann's nails had dug into her arm were clearly visible.

She cleaned her tears, reapplied her makeup, and went upstairs to meet with Mr. Chase.

She had to sell the jewelry and get a divorce from York.

She couldn't wait another second.

At the same time, York brought Ann upstairs, where a nanny immediately started treating her knee.

Ann sat on the sofa, sobbing. "York, I never imagined your wife would find me here. She said this house is your marital property and demanded that I move out and give it back to her."

"No matter how I explained, your wife wouldn't believe me. She called me a homewrecker and said she fought hard to marry you and would never agree to a divorce. She said she would make sure Ethan remains a bastard his whole life."
