No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1016

Noelle sighed at Cedric's retreating figure. Just a moment ago, she had the urge to tell him that she remembered everything about the car accident, but she just couldn't say it.

Noelle pursed her lips. She would tell him when the time was right.

She took out her phone and replied to Carl, "I'm fine now."

Carl immediately called. Noelle glanced at the screen and then eventually picked up. "Hello? What is it?"

Carl said gently, "Your voice sounds hoarse. Make sure to have something to soothe your throat later."

"I feel much better now. Thanks for the medicine." Noelle had mixed feelings about Carl, but she had to admit his medicine helped with her swift recovery.

Carl was excited to hear her thanks. He said, "You're my sister. There's no need for thanks. This is my duty."

Noelle remained indifferent. "If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."

She hung up. Carl seemed to have said something, but she didn't hear it. But it wasn't as if she wanted to know.

Keeping her distance was the best way to maintain their sibling relationship. After staying in the hospital room, Noelle walked out to get some air.

She happened to run into Emma in the garden. The latter was also in a hospital gown, sitting alone on a bench, lost in thought.

Noelle paused and hesitated when she saw Emma. In the end, she decided to leave. After all, they weren't on the best of terms. Even if they met, she wouldn't know what to say.

A violent coughing fit suddenly came from behind her.

Noelle turned around and saw Emma hunched over, clutching her chest and reaching for the bottle on the side. But she accidentally knocked it to the ground instead.

Noelle quickly walked over and twisted the lid open before handing the bottle to her.
