No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1050

When the group set off from campus, Eugene drove. Mia and Grace accompanied Noelle and sat on either side of her. Surrounded by close friends, Noelle felt genuinely content. She didn't lack anything anymore.

Grace reassuringly said, "I checked the calendar. Today's a lucky day."

Mia smiled and chimed in, "The Merlock family is completely out of options now. They're renting a small apartment.

"Mr. Merlock will testify in court and confirm that she hired someone to commit murder. With that, she's completely doomed."

Noelle seemed surprised. "But wouldn't that drag him down, too? Covering up a crime is punishable by law."

"The sentence won't be heavy. As long as the Greene family doesn't continue pressing the Merlocks, he'll get to live comfortably once he's released. That's certainly better than ending up on the streets like they are now."

Noelle glanced at her and immediately understood that this was probably Cedric's doing. He must have made a deal with Dieter.

The latter would agree to anything for money. To Noelle, nothing else really mattered as long as Ruth paid the price for what she'd done.

Soon, they arrived outside the courthouse. A group of reporters gathered at the entrance, hoping to catch the first exclusive scoop. When Noelle appeared, the entire group swarmed around her.

"Ms. Liddell, we heard you've recalled details of the accident. Could you describe what happened?"

"Ms. Liddell, did you approach Cedric just for revenge?"

As a child, people often envied her for having six older brothers. Back then, she felt proud of it, too. But now, Noelle glanced briefly before turning around and walking straight toward the courthouse without waiting for them.

Donovan's expression darkened as he watched her walk away. This was an important day, so she should have walked in with the Liddells. What would the media think of the Liddell family now?

The case had garnered intense public interest, and even Liddell Corporation's stock had rebounded because of it.

A reporter approached Donovan and bluntly asked, "It's been reported that the Liddells not only raised the daughter of the criminal but also abused your biological sister. Now that the truth is public, what do you have to say?"

Donovan's smile froze, and his face paled with embarrassment. Was the reporter trying to humiliate them on purpose?
