Laura was stopped at the entrance outside the hospital.
She stormed forward, glaring at the security staff who'd stopped her. "Do you even know who I am? How dare you block me?"
"Ms. Merlock, Mr. Greene has instructed that you're not allowed within a single step of this hospital."
"But I'm here to visit Emma. He has no right to stop me."
Laura's streaming account had just been shut down, and she'd received a lawyer's letter. She didn't need to guess who was behind it all.
Magnus furiously stormed out of the building. "Emma is no one to you! You Merlocks are a bunch of venomous snakes, and you should've paid your price long ago."
Laura smiled when she saw Magnus. "Magnus, you're here! What my mom did has nothing to do with me."
"Oh, really? Wasn't it you who wanted to destroy the kidney donor match?"
Laura looked guilty as she refuted, "T-that was an accident. I didn't think it'd turn out that way, and I honestly regret it."
"Save the excuses. You're only here to beg for forgiveness. Well, let me make myself clear—Merlock Corporation must go bankrupt, and don't even think about making a comeback by livestreaming or selling anything online. I'll make sure you're banned everywhere.
"I'll see your entire family ruined, begging on the streets and wishing for death."
Magnus' eyes gleamed with hatred.
Laura was startled by the intensity of his words. "You can't go this far, Magnus. Does Ced and your mom even know what you're doing?"
"Where do you think I got the power to do all this? My mom's already blocked you and wants nothing to do with the Merlocks ever again."
He stepped forward and shoved Laura hard, sending her stumbling to the ground. "Don't ever show up in front of me again, or I'll make sure you can never live or die in peace."
Laura was about to speak when she looked up and froze. A tall, familiar figure stood at the end of the hallway. Was that Cedric?
The sight of him so cold and indifferent made her heart sink to the bottom. It really was over now.
