Noelle looked up and met Cedric's eyes. Then, he leaned down and kissed her as he reached out to raise the privacy divider in the car, blocking the view between the front and back seats. At first, her eyes widened in surprise, but she didn't push him away.
It was early winter outside, and the air was cold and crisp, but inside the car, it was incredibly warm.
When they finally pulled away from each other, both of them were breathless. Noelle rested against Cedric's chest, listening to the strong, steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
Cedric's voice was low and husky. "This is what I feel like doing right now."
Noelle poked his side and muttered, "There are still people in the car."
Even though the divider was up, it wasn't soundproof—and worse, it made everything seem even more suspicious, like a clumsy attempt to hide something.
Cedric rested his forehead against hers. "Come home with me tonight?"
Noelle was still leaning against him, his hand resting hot against the small of her back. Then, he kissed her ear and murmured, "We haven't had a proper date in days."
Before she could even figure out how to respond, Cedric calmly told the driver, Hugo McMooney, "Take us to my place."
Noelle immediately felt the car making a turn, heading onto another route. She pinched his waist in protest. This was way too blatant—it made her feel weirdly embarrassed.
However, Cedric's gaze darkened as he leaned in and claimed Noelle's lips again, and the hand at her back finally slipped beneath her clothes, unable to restrain itself any longer. She felt the temperature inside the car rising even higher.
By the time the car reached the mansion, Noelle had almost no strength left and had to be carried inside. She shyly hid in his embrace as they made their way back to the bedroom.
Once there, she finally wiggled out of his embrace and ran to the window. She looked out and could indeed see snowflakes falling outside.
"I thought I saw snow earlier... and I was right."
She stared at the snow outside the window, her face still flushed. Suddenly, Cedric hugged her from behind, his arms possessively circling her waist while he rested his chin on her shoulder.
His voice was low and rough. "Want to take a bath together?"
