No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1151

Noelle and Cedric had just stepped out of the elevator when they ran into Salena's group.

When Salena noticed Noelle, her expression soured. "I heard it was your cat that caused the Cantrells to get injured."

Noelle raised an eyebrow and replied, "That's quite an accusation. Then, I suppose I could say you covet Mia's inheritance and want to seize it for yourself."

"What nonsense are you spouting?"

"You started it, didn't you?" Noelle snapped back as she glared at Salena. "Ivy's car crash happened because of a chain collision on the bridge. How is that our fault? Watch what you say. False accusations can have legal consequences."

Salena wanted to shoot back, but when she noticed Cedric standing beside Noelle, she pursed her lips and stiffly entered the elevator.

Standing outside and watching Salena's group leave, Noelle turned to Cedric. "I'm a little worried about Mia. There's no way Mrs. Cantrell would be so kind as to visit. Don't forget how I teamed up with Ivy to screw her over."

If that hadn't happened, Salena would have devoured most of the cash and shares under Mia's name.

Now that Ivy was in trouble, Salena was probably thrilled. Why would she suddenly show up at the hospital with so many relatives in tow?

Cedric thought about it before suggesting, "If you're worried, let's check on her."

When Noelle glanced at his injured hand, he calmly replied, "It's fine. I'd just be sitting around anyway."

He knew that Mia was Noelle's only friend other than Grace. Her friends meant a lot to her.

Noelle smiled. "Let's go then."

They reentered the elevator and returned to the same floor Salena had gone to. Along the way, Noelle texted Mia, "Mrs. Cantrell showed up with a group of relatives. Be careful."

"Whether he comes with me is not your decision to make. Take him and bring him back to the Cantrell residence," Salena barked.

She'd never liked Ivy. The latter used to team up with Noelle to pull a fast one on her before disappearing overseas. Salena could hardly find her.

Now that Ivy had returned and gotten injured with Eason, Salena saw her chance.

Mia stepped in and blocked Salena's way. "Eason is my little brother. No matter what happens, this isn't something you have the right to interfere with. I'm an adult, and I'll take care of Eason."

Salena bristled with anger. "Don't let her fool you, Mia. She's nothing but a liar."

"Whether she is or isn't, I'll judge that for myself. But you messed with my affairs and took my assets to invest them recklessly, leaving me completely penniless. Now, are you trying to get your hands on Eason's shares too?"

Mia knew that Eason had some shares. Though it wasn't as many as she once had, it was a decent sum.
