It was getting late after the meeting ended. Everyone gradually left the conference room, leaving only Noelle and Cedric behind.

She turned to him and asked, "Is your hand okay?"

"No big deal. I just give orders anyway, and I don't really have to use it."

Then, he paused and added, "Let's go to L Bistro tonight. There's something we have to talk about."

Noelle eyed him and skeptically asked, "Can you manage?"

Cedric gulped and asked in return, "Do I seem that incapable to you?"

She froze briefly, and after realizing the implication in his words, instantly shot him a glare. He used to put up an act in front of her, but now, he wouldn't even bother to keep up the act.

Then, she said, "Isn't it a little last-minute to ask them out now? It's snowing heavily out there, and the roads are going to be slippery."

"I've made arrangements. They're all coming. There's a new clue we've uncovered," Cedric said as he got up.

"What kind of clue?"

He clenched his jaw and responded, "Jeremy found it, but he hasn't said anything yet."

It clearly bothered him that Jeremy was the one who made a new discovery again, but now wasn't the time to get mad.

Seeing the look on his face, Noelle reached out and gently stroked his cheek. "Jealous, aren't we?"

Cedric's lips tightened. "I just can't stand his smug, flashy attitude."

"Serves you right. You used to flirt with everyone, and now that's karma."

Cedric couldn't say a single word of rebuttal.
