Noelle felt extremely indignant on Mia's behalf after hearing Emma's explanation.
She said, "Things must've become really hard for Mia after that."
Emma explained, "Not exactly. Perhaps it was out of guilt, or perhaps it was to save himself from any embarrassment, but Mia's father still treated her well. The Cantrell family isn't short on money anyway. The son would be set to inherit the family's fortune and business, and the daughter would be given a large sum of money."
Noelle was still displeased. "Right, but in the end, the inheritance still went to Mia."
Emma continued, "At that time, we guessed that it was the result of the will being put into action. Mia's father died abruptly, and he probably did not have the chance to alter his will before that. In the end, Salena gathered up the entire family and split the inheritance in accordance with the instructions written on the will. She then sent Ivy and her son Eason off to live abroad."
Upon hearing that, Noelle suddenly felt that Salena's arrogant character was not as annoying as it used to be.
Had it not been for Salena's decisive actions back then, Mia might not have been able to inherit everything so smoothly.
If the will had ended up in Ivy's hands, Mia would have been done for.
Noelle frowned and said, "But Mrs. Cantrell was going after the inheritance as well."
Emma replied, "Indeed. Salena had only done what she had done because it benefited her, but it wasn't like she didn't have any sympathy for Mia back then. People, along with their feelings, change over time after all."
Noelle nodded. "That's true, but Mrs. Ivy is definitely up to something for returning from abroad so suddenly."
She then recounted everything Ivy had done recently.
After listening to the full story, Emma replied calmly, "Ivy's probably trying to win you over so that she can get closer to Mia through you. Mia's gotten much more independent now after all. If she could get Mia to soften up a little, Mia might decide to help set up Eason for an easy life."
Noelle replied, "That seems to be the case, but I just can't get over her face no matter what."
"Ivy looks a lot like Xenia, doesn't she?"
