Noelle did not even know how she arrived at the hospital.

All she knew was that her mind had gone completely blank. She could not even mutter a single word.

Cedric brought Noelle to the hospital. He held her hand and said, "Mia's going to be okay. We already called in our best doctors last night. She's going to be fine."

Noelle stood outside the emergency room and did not dare to go any closer.

Her eyes were turning red. "The one place that I hate more than anything else is the outside of an emergency room."

Eugene was sitting on a chair outside the room. Both of his hands were held up to his ears, leaving his expression unreadable.

He was covered in wounds with dried blood all over him, but it was impossible to tell whose blood it was.

Everyone was on edge at that moment.

After regaining some of her composure, Noelle walked over to Eugene and said, "I want to know what happened."

Eugene looked up at her, revealing his bloodshot eyes.

He also looked utterly defeated.

Cedric sat beside him and patted him on the shoulder. "I've already arranged for the best doctors to look after Mia. It's going to be okay."

Eugene looked at Noelle and explained, "Mia said that she wanted to experience camping in the snow and watch the sunrise, so I prepared everything and drove her up the mountain in a camper overnight. But on the way there, a small truck lost control on the icy road and hit us. Our car broke through the guardrail and fell off the cliff."

Noelle covered her mouth as she listened.

Eugene continued through the pain, "I shouldn't have agreed to take her camping. This wouldn't have happened if we never tried going to the mountains in the first place."

Noelle wiped her tears and replied, "It was an accident. None of this would've happened if the truck hadn't lost control on the road."

But tears were already streaming down her face as she spoke.

Just then, a large group of people came out of the elevator.

Leading the group was Salena, who went straight for Eugene with a grim expression. "I've always objected to the both of you being together. And now, you've gotten Mia killed!"
