No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 1443

Carl didn't say a word, but his silence said everything.

Frank pressed his lips together and looked torn before saying, "If Noelle never goes back to her old life, will that make sure she never remembers anything?"

"Pretty much. As long as we feed her only what we want her to know, she'll never recall the past," Carl said confidently.

Wyatt fell silent. He was certain that if Noelle ever found out what Carl had planned for her, she'd fight him with everything she had.

Right now, the only reason she could get along with them in peace was the belief she'd get to return in a month. But if she ever realized she was never going back, how would she react?

Carl suddenly turned to him and exposed his thoughts. "I know what you're thinking. Just treat it like she has multiple personalities, and I'm just erasing a part of them. It won't hurt her at all."

"But she didn't agree to this." Wyatt shot back.

Carl gave him a pat on the shoulder and said, "Oh, and there's something else. My team has made progress on your leg research, and there's a new treatment that can completely eliminate your phantom pain. You won't have to live with that torment anymore."

"Really?" Wyatt's eyes widened in shock.

That phantom pain had haunted him for years. Whenever it elapsed, it drove him to sleepless nights and moments where death felt like mercy. Every time it flared up, it was always Noelle who did whatever she could to ease the pain.

He'd always taken her efforts for granted and assumed it was just something she should do for him. It wasn't until she'd finally stopped that he realized what he'd lost.

As he looked at Wyatt, Carl continued, "I've never stopped trying to find a solution and help you with your pain. Now, I just want things with Noelle to go back to how they were.

"You'll help me with that, won't you?"

Wyatt gulped thoughtfully before he nodded.
