No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 752

Ruth glared furiously after the masked man left, seething. Damn it! How could these filthy, lowlife rats speak to her like that?

She could only hope that someone would find her soon. Once she was free, she'd make sure the kidnapper disappeared from this world without a trace.

On the other side of the wall, Noelle watched Ruth and said, "But Sean and the guy we caught are clearly not the same person. Their faces don't even match."

Ruth's story sounded strange, too. What exactly didn't add up?

Cedric looked at Noelle and said, "Mr. Q might have had plastic surgery."

"But if that's the case, what about the picture Tilly took earlier? That's clearly Sean's face!"

Cedric frowned. "There's a hyper-realistic human skin mask that mimics someone's features so well that you can never tell the difference unless you look closely.

"It was no wonder we didn't catch him last night. If he's had surgery, he wouldn't have looked like his old self. We would've missed him completely."

"Exactly!" Noelle thought it made sense.

Since both Sean and Thomas were at the car dealership, the key difference was that Sean had altered his appearance, but Thomas hadn't. They'd missed that crucial detail, and that was why they never found Sean.

Noelle turned to Cedric and said, "I knew it was strange how Sean kept managing to slip away. So this was how he did it."

They'd been chasing the wrong man from the start.

Cedric turned to Tilly and instructed, "Send someone to quietly investigate the mechanics at the car dealership, especially anyone close to Mr. Q and Thomas. Go through their details thoroughly."

Though Sean might have had plastic surgery, there were always small clues hinting at fake IDs. Noelle's mood visibly lifted. At least they had a new clue now.
