No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 754

Ruth couldn't stand being humiliated like that.

Noelle looked at her begging expression, and it was only then that her mood improved. She bent over and sneered. "Now that's the proper attitude when you've done something wrong. Beg!"

She shoved Ruth to the ground and towered over the latter. "I said, beg! On your knees!"

Ruth should beg like a stray dog, pitifully wagging its tail. After all, Noelle's parents had died such an innocent death, and that was all because of Ruth.

Ruth had no time to consider her dignity anymore. "I had no choice back then. Everything was going according to plan until that country bumpkin couple showed up and tried to compete with us for the project. How could I not do something about it?"

If the Merlock family hadn't obtained that project back then, they would have long gone bankrupt and not been the wealthy elites they were today.

Ruth continued, "All men are selfish, and that's the law of survival. When your people were bought off, wasn't that the same, too?"

Noelle could see from her expression that she had no remorse. People like her only cared about profit.

Noelle's voice was icy as she continued, "Now that you're in our hands, it's up to us. I bet the Merlock family would pay a handsome price to buy a video of a disgraced socialite."

She reached out, and Ruth fainted on the spot.

Noelle let out a cold laugh. "That's it? You're already scared?"

"Time's up." Cedric's voice sounded in her earpiece, and she knew it was time to leave.

She turned and walked out of the room, looking at Cedric. "Do you think I went too far?"

Cedric took her hand and reassured her, "Finding the truth is just a matter of time."

"I know. Thank you for arranging all of this." Noelle really meant it.

He stepped closer and locked eyes with hers. "Then remember it."

He prayed she would remember all of it and that, once she learned the full truth, she wouldn't hate him so much.

Noelle had etched everything he'd done into her heart, so how could she forget?

As the elevator doors opened, Laura ran into the sight. Her composure crumbled as she cried, "Ced, I've been looking for you! My mom's in trouble!"
