No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 776

Xenia gritted her teeth in anger after being reminded of the accident. Had it not been for Brittany being extremely protective of Justin, she would have already found a way to get pregnant with Justin's child and then used the baby to elevate her status.

But that one time, back at the Cantrell family banquet, things got heated all of a sudden, and Justin did not bring any protection with him. They had not taken any precautions for that one time.

Deep down in her heart, even Xenia herself suspected that the child might be Justin's. She would not reveal that possibility just yet. As far as she was concerned, the child could also become a lifeline for her one day.

Wyatt was no longer as confident or cheerful as he was moments prior.

After stirring up some trouble for Xenia, Noelle happily turned to Barnaby and said, "Bring out all of my favorites. If there's anyone that doesn't like them, you can just tell them to leave."

It was clear that she was referring to Xenia.

Xenia glared at Noelle's figure in anger before turning to Wyatt and putting up a pitiful act.

"Wyatt, Noelle is deliberately trying to drive a wedge between us. She wants nothing more than to see us turn on each other. She wants you to be left without a child."

Wyatt snorted and replied, "She wouldn't dare. Nobody will harm my child so long as I'm around."

He then glanced at Xenia's belly and continued, "You'd better make sure that the baby you're carrying inside you is mine. Otherwise, I'll give you a fate worse than death."

Xenia shivered involuntarily. She then put on a sweet tone and replied, "Wyatt, don't you at the very least trust me after everything we've gone through together?"

Wyatt grabbed her by the chin and sneered. "I used to trust you wholeheartedly and treated you like a goddess. And guess what? You turned out to be a slut who'd sleep with any man.

"If it weren't for the fact that you might be carrying my child, do you honestly think that I'd even bother helping you?"

He was never a kind and generous person. Ever since he suffered from a leg injury, he had become progressively paranoid and insecure.

Xenia calling him a worthless cripple in public had deeply wounded him. He used to still carry a trace of affection for her back then. But now, even that very last bit of affection had faded away.

Meanwhile, Xenia could only swallow her anger and remain quiet. Had Noelle not ruined her plan, she would have already taken the money and disappeared without a trace. She would not be stuck and locked up by the Liddell family, unable to do a single thing.

She already knew they wanted to discuss how to deal with Xenia.

Frank explained, "We believe that there's a high chance that the child Xenia is pregnant with belongs to Wyatt. Given Wyatt's unique situation with his body, we've decided to let Xenia stay with us for now.

"As for her father, we won't go soft on him just because of her."

Noelle was not the slightest bit surprised by Frank's words. She had already guessed that he would say something like this since last night. A mocking smile soon appeared on her lips.

Frank did not dare to look Noelle in the eyes as he forced himself to continue. "Noelle, things aren't as simple as they seem to be. Once the investigation regarding Mr. Quigley is completed, we'll be handing everything over to law enforcement."

Noelle replied, "Spare me the long-winded speech. I don't mind allowing Xenia to stay here for now, but only on one condition."

Frank breathed a sigh of relief. "What is it, Noelle?"

"I don't care if the baby in her belly is part of the Liddells. Given her identity, if she wants to stay here, she must wear black and kneel before our parents' memorial portrait to beg them for forgiveness as atonement every day. Mom and Dad wouldn't possibly allow her into the family otherwise."
