After Noelle hung up the phone, she returned to the lounge, only to find it empty. What was going on?
Just then, Raymond rushed in. "Noelle, all the team members are gone, and I can't reach anyone."
"Where did they go?"
"A staff member came by saying there was an interview, so everyone followed them. I went to the restroom, and when I headed over to meet up with them, no one was there."
Hearing that, Noelle immediately knew who was behind it. She called Laura at once, and the latter instantly picked up.
Laura's voice came through the phone. "Ms. Liddell, if you've thought things through, just head to the front gate. Someone will be waiting for you."
"You're mistaken, Ms. Merlock. I've called the cops. If our phone call gets handed over to the authorities, who do you think they'll suspect first? Do you think the Merlock family can withstand another scandal like this?" Noelle calmly shot back.
"Go ahead and call the cops. The Liddell family's deeds will come to light, too."
Laura fumed in the car. Noelle sure was one hard bone, and to think she still dared act this bold!
After ending the call, Noelle looked at Raymond and apologized, "I'm sorry. I'm the reason the match is affected."
"Does it have something to do with the Merlocks?" Raymond had overheard Noelle mentioning the Merlock family and thought of rumors about the bad blood between Noelle and the Merlocks.
Noelle nodded. "I'll take responsibility for what happened."
"We're not done yet. The main team members are gone, but the reserve team is still here."
Raymond immediately started making calls to gather the reserve members and explained, "They were supposed to be cheering us on from the stands, and now's the perfect time for them to step in. With you on board, we might have a shot at winning."
"Sure. Let's use the time to strategize."
